Why would you pay that much money for a really sh*tty 3rd string QB who has a negative chance of being the future of this franchise?

Look what Dallas gave up for Lance!

if you can find a trade partner, go for it for sure.  but i would rather they keep him than cut him outright if they cant get some value in return.

oh dear... cardiac issues.

It was a joke. Matt has a real issue with Zach being on the roster in any capacity and that includes team's hydration specialist!

I'm cutting him, the value would be the roster spot for a another developmental QB.

Why?

What is the value in us holding onto him?

Basically for RFK to qualify for the ballot in many states he has to have a VP candidate on the ticket. And deadlines are approaching. It's an expensive process and needs thousands of signatures per state.

True, that's why they have been systematically working on that as we speak and they've been gathering 60% more then needed for each state. RFK said he's confident he will ha on all 50 states ballots

Here you go, if you want to see what's exactly needed and how they are getting them,

no lost money or cap hit and gives them a number three QB that already knows the landscape.

So the team should hold onto the guy that they don’t want here, who doesn’t want to be here himself, who will be doing nothing but collecting a fat check because of “familiarity?”

Yea, I don't get it.

The best thing for all parties involved is a fresh start. I'm sure Zach wants out, as well?

I think he’s seriously considering the comfort of being on the Jets vs another situation where he might not have it like he had it here.

I would think that going from starter to backup was hard enough. Now, it's backup to 3rd stringer/emergency QB. That just seems untenable to me but I guess we'll see.

It kinda makes sense to keep him as QB3 if it's obvious no team has any interest in him. The Jets owe him the guaranteed salary anyway, so it's a QB3 for what they already owe. If there's any interest, definitely cut him and take the offset on the guaranteed salary to sign a different QB3.

Pretty sure he's getting moved one way or another before the summer.

Not sure if anybody already posted this, my apologies if so, but Zach put his NJ townhouse on the market according to the  NY Post today.

Wonder if he doesn't see the point of sticking around anymore with the speculative news on Rodgers. Really starting to feel like they might be in play for selecting a QB early.

Zach Wilson can never lose another game for the Jets. another 3rd string QB can but not him. it would be disastrous for JD and Saleh if that happens.

and you know it will if Zach is here. he will get into a game somehow.

Rodgers will get a stupid injury like a splinter in his throwing hand. Taylor on the night before the game wife will give birth and Zach will start. and lose the game.

anybody in the world can lose that game not the guy everyone wants gone for 2 years now.

Somehow?  AR8 could easily get injured and then we'd be counting on Tyrod Taylor, who also usually gets injured.

If they have a trade partner, let it happen.  they way it has been looking, there are no offers.  now what ? just cut him when not doing so could save some money/cap and fill QB number 3 spot ?  When the Jets are winning and Rodgers is on the field, bad feelings about Wilson will vanish.  Promise.   The benefit for Wilson would be that he gets the year to learn under his hero that he was hoping for.  Who better to help him learn than Rodgers who seems to genuinely like him.

so what, no big thing. but if he loses....

why is he still here?....  JD is the worst GM. .... didnt they learn anything the past 3 years that he sucks??? .....blah, blah, blah..

the attacks from the media and fans would be relentless.

and how could Saleh tell us he has all the confidence in the world of Zach after he bench him how many times in 3 years??? replace him with Rodgers after 2 years, and then they told everyone they were moving on from him. but now were going to hear the BS about how good Zach looks?

they cant take that chance.

Zach Wilson is statistically the worst QB in NFL history to ever start 30 or more games. this has to end now.

All good points.  I think though, the bottom line is win or lose.  If they win and look good with Rodgers on the way to an apparent playoff birth, fans will be happy with or without Wilson.  If the Jets lose and look awful in 2024, fans will riot.  JD and RS will probably be terminated before the end of the season.  That is with or without Wilson.  Winning cures all.

I just thought of something to make everyone happy...

What if  Rodgers simply does his part this year as the Jets QB1 while also being a weekly reminder for 10 weeks in the season, leading up to election day, that a possible future VP of RFK Jr is playing a game that he loves. That in itself blows the normal challenging VP's influence completely out of the water as far as press coverage. No need to be on the campaign trail!  Ala, Taylor Swift type weekly coverage....

AND we get to see Rodgers laser focused to be at the top of his game to finish his career hopefully hoisting the Lombardi while also trying to not @#$% it up for the future of our country.

How do you like them apples! Lol

It’s not Rodgers :(

Well that seems to put this to bed after a few days of drawing heavy interest to RFK Jr's VP.

I see it as mission accomplished!, and RFK now by saying this is removing the heat from Rodgers who is probably smiling somewhere in Costa Rica after not saying a word...  Genius!
