Yes.  And message board geniuses love to point this out and flex how smart they are.

Its too funny.

Wait a few weeks and do it purposely.  Watch the clown who jumps all over you for it.  Its hysterical.

Well than I guess @Trotter would be smarter then they are.

I'll still watch Jets games, for now. It's been going on for a while now but today was just it for me. I simply cannot watch the terrible officiating anymore.

For my entire life Sunday was NFL day. You watch football on Sunday. I just can't justify it anymore. The officiating is and has been so terrible for a long time now. The Jets make enough bad plays on their own yet the officials consistently pile on and add to the disaster. I can no longer justify spending my time watching a product that is so poorly officiated. There are so many other things I can invest my time into on Sundays. I don't watch the news or the weather for similar reasons.

Y'all don't know me but this is a big thing for me. Don't know if a thread was appropriate but I felt the need to share.

I haven't been able to watch Non Jets games for more than a few minutes at a time for a couple of years now. I just... don't care or enjoy the product. Plus, I don't drink much anymore and that has REALLY changed a few things...

I also can't watch much TV anymore, specific shows that can keep my interest are few and far between. It's funny, I loved video games as a kid, and have rediscovered how much fun good RPGs can be.

Last time I actually was not a football addict who watched every Sunday was the early 90’s.  But that’s because movies and tv were amazing back then.  Spielberg was killing.  Tarantino.  Die Hard sequels.  Crimson Tide.  Casino.  Heat.  I literally saw Heat and Casino on the same Sunday afternoon for the first time after I paid $5 matinee. Married with Children. First season of NYPD Blue with the Irish cop who quit because he was nuts it was great

I think you may confused by the word quit. If you keep watching NFL games then it's not quitting.

Although, if your argument is that what the Jets do isn't NFL football.. I can understand.

I quit watching when the Jets aren't on, make sense? That's a lot of time freed up. So much more productive things I can invest my time in. Ya dig?

I am moving in the same direction as @Barry McCockinner. I could actually just dvr the Jets games and not watch them unless we won. Also I assume when you say rpg, you mean video games?

Married with children was elite TV. Nothing will ever compete.

"Heat" was a brilliant flick. And two years after its release, two tooled up psychos did their best reenactment of the robbery and shootout scene at a B of A branch near my old office. We couldn't leave the office for three hours. Fun times.

I will say, it’s amazing how quickly we’ve become inured to officials ******* the sport over every week. I know for me, after every big play, I wait for the little flag icon to pop up in the corner of the screen before I get excited/pissed

I was in the Army when Heat came out. The shootout was an almost textbook react to near Ambush and break contact drill. I've never seen a more realistic gunfight in any movie before or since. It even sounded real due to how Mann filmed it and did the soundwork.

Watching NFL football hasn't been enjoyable for the last 10 or 15 years honestly.  I enjoy the Jets, when they don't suck on rare occasion, simply because they are the Jets.  I get no entertainment out of watching other teams.

Officiating aside, I feel even the caliber of players today is less entertaining to watch, specifically on defense, and likely due to all the rule changes.  The players barely wear pads anymore.  I miss the huge ass shoulder pads and sleeves.  Linebackers were huge.  Now you have these athletic freaks eating, sleeping, breathing football all throughout college coming into the NFL, where everyone is an Olympian and where they wear tiny ass pads, and they just blow out their knees left and right.

If you take a moment to drown out the incessant gambling ads and fantasy nerd statistics, you really become aware that the game has turned into utter sh!t.  It is a money hungry league of p*ssies.  Essentially reality television at this point.
