Lions | Team interested in talking to B. Schottenheimer

Fri, 16 Jan 2009 15:49:57 -0800

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the Detroit Lions are interested in talking to New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer about their vacant offensive coordinator position, according to ESPN

Good job Rich. The gift Schott promised you for running that article will be delivered on Monday. Keep up the good work champ.

interesting spot for baby schott

taking a lateral move is a career killer sometimes, but if he turns down the interview and waits it out here for the HC job and ryan is hired and fires him, he may not get another opportunity, and have to go backwards to QB coach or go back to college

Makes zero sense. Schottenheimer cannot leave unless the Jets let him out of his contract.

Honestly if Tannenbaum likes him so much he shouldn't worry about what we the fans will say, he should just promote him to Head Coach.

Grow some balls, Front Office.

Technically, wouldn't the world's "offensive" coordinator be the Devil? In turn, making God the world's "defensive" coordinator?

When do you pray to God? When you're doing something offensive? Or when you're praying for protection?

Just some food for thought from the board's honorary Agnostic. ;)

Let's say there's some truth to this (which there could be, but probably isn't).

Now how is that not tampering with our under-contract coach? Hell, the guy is publicly known to be in our (at worst) top-4 candidates to be the HC, and another team is putting feelers out to him? Don't tell me the nonsense that they're interested in him without talking with him about it first.

Where's Commissioner No-Nonsense Goodell?

GOD takes no interest in football.

Except, for an occasional Hail Mary. ;)

you have to prove the contact was between the club and the coach directly

I'd like to see roger clamp down on all the leaks, tho

espn's bottom line is an agent's/teams dream

one day we're going to see this;

bill parcells just told his cabana boy he isn't very happy with the owners decision, and this would be a good time to call his cell at 555-1212

ESPN reports Daily news said it but in Cimini's blog he said ESPN reports it.......smells pretty f**king fishy

The Lions are allowed to ask the Jets for permission to talk to Schottenheimer. The fact that we haven't heard anything about the Jets granting such permission means they probably didn't do so.

Your attempt at humor was an EPIC FAIL.

Seriously. This is what you wrote:

WTF does that mean?

Did you mean, "The World's worst offensive coordinator God ever put on this earth"?

Detroit should give us the #1 overall pick for this offensive genius.

Yeah, they should give a prospect who's never even been through an NFL practice, let alone a game, an $80M contract with $40M guaranteed.

They can keep BS for free. No need for us to get screwed doubly.

I'd take their top pick in round 2 though without crying.

Never going to happen anyway.
