You dont say. Do you actually mean to tell me that Randy Moss takes the top of a defense for a team that loves to dink and dunk? Crazy.

Who does that for the Patriots now?

Yeah, he made a big difference in the second game of the season.

From New England Patriots Press Secretary Peter King's MMBQ column this morning:

Since trading Randy Moss in October, the Patriots haven't had the kind of big receiver to threaten the edges; and Branch, Tate and Welker didn't do that Sunday, nor did they grow to be 6-3. The Patriots kill teams with the catch-and-run plays, and if Brady couldn't get the ball to the good after-the-catch guys, or if they got felled immediately by the omnipresent Eric Smith down near the box, that way of moving the ball down the field all of a sudden won't work. Those 11 defensive backs just made the picture cloudy for Brady underneath all day.

Word, and then Reche Caldwell cooked Revis up in Denver a month later

And that has something to do with Randy Moss?

I don't ever recall saying I know more than anyone else about football but one thing is for sure. You'll never convince me that Moss would have been the difference in this game.

He was sorely missed. It was very obvious to see.

Yeah, he made a big difference in the second game of the season.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!!!

wait, let me read that again...

Wrong, Revis would have had him for lunch and dinner. In that case, Moss would have folded. What the Pats could have used was a d-lineman and a linebacker....a pass rush specialist would have been nice.

Honestly, I think the Pats team over-achieved this year. Young, change on the fly, too many jags on d-line.

Anyway, congrats. The better team won last night. The defense was awesome.

Way to cherry pick one play. A play where Revis pulled his hammy and missed time right? What about the previous 4-5 games where Moss was AWOL?

First, given the way the D played, do you think Tom would have had time for a play to develop? Doubtful.

Second, given on how well Cromatrie and Revis played yesterday, do you really see that happening consistently in yesterday's game? Doubtful.

How the hell do you watch your team's D harass Brady to death and not realize that Defense was the difference yesterday? If Sanchez was harassed yesterday like Brady, the Pats are playing Steelers.

Don’t bet on any team that trades away it’s only deep threat for a bag of magic beans.

Draft picks are wonderful.

Tom Brady is 34.

Belicheat screwed himself and Brady out of a shot at a championship because Moss is not a nice guy? Good luck drafting all those gritty good character guys who won’t contribute until Brady is retired and bitching about Bridget Moynihan’s child support checks.

Nope you are wrong. Nobody on your offense scares you. If you disrupt the timing and the rhythm the way the Jets did yesterday, your offense is doodoo. His mere presence alone changes how you have to attack the Patriots.

I predicted this all season Garbie and you hate seeing me right. I knew a team would throw them off, play close to the LOS and shut down the dink and dunk attack while getting after Brady. I knew in that game that if they got down they would lose because there is no threat of a game changing WR, it made it impossible for the Pats to come back.

You all were 100% wrong about the genius trade of Moss, just like you are that Welker is more than a JAG.

Massholes are so wedded to the idea that Belichick is a genius they refuse to see what a huge unforced mistake that trade was. 34-year old QBs need options, not draft picks that may or may not pan out after he's gone. There comes a point that despite what a urinal cake a player may be, you have to understand talent is over the long-term as big or not bigger than character. Moss wasn't any different this year than he was in years past. Even if he wasn't as good, a deep threat would've made a difference. Enough to win-we'll never know. The genius didn't give his team that chance.

Ok, were 'we' wrong when the team was averaging almost 38 points a game during their win streak? Like when they put up 39 on the Steelers? 45 on the Jets?

Its pathetic actually. There isnt a single fan that can be realistic about his flaws.

You dont trade the greatest big play WR of all time and get better. He takes the top of the D, something the Pats could have used yesterday...even if he didnt catch a pass. I dont know if they would have won, but he was sorely missed.

FYI - you were scoring like that w/ Moss too. But never mind facts.

The Pats were rolling, no doubt about that. But the moment Brady got flustered, it was all over. Just having Moss for 1 or 2 plays could have made the difference last night.

Did you see the difference he made for the Vikings and Titans? Yes, if we could have the Moss from two years ago it would have made an immense difference. This years version of Moss? Not a chance.

Wasn't it THIS year that Moss burned Revis? Isn't Revis the best CB in the NFL? Truth is Moss does play hard when the ball is coming to him, everyone in the league knows this, he just has to be motivated and babied. He was cut because he was walking around when he was the 3rd option on a pass play, and in the Pats system, 3rd WR's get alot of looks. This frustrated Tom and Bill so they cut him...his mouth helped.

Just having Moss as a threat to go deep is a weapon, you know this Husker!!!! The Jets were so successful because we were able to jump the slants and short in's by bracketing and playing in and out coverage....if we had to worry about a deep threat in Randy Moss, we wouldn't have been able to do that.

the fake punt at thier own 38 and 8 minute drive with 12 minutes to go should end that idea for good.. lol

This. But the Patsy trolls dont understand that...or refuse to believe it because BB wouldnt have traded him if it was that simple. He's too much of a genius.

Yes, we were. We scored 38 on the Bengals who were horrible. We scored 38 on the Bills who were horrible. We scored 41 against the Phins and benefited from a KO, Blocked FG and Pick 6 TD. How did the Moss led offense do against the Jets? 14 points.

Don't let the truth get in the way of your spin. I mean the greatest "big play WR" of all time just totally torched the league this year after he left Foxboro.

You're really underrating how crappy their defense is.

Mark Sanchez threw 3 TDs and was 4/4 in the red zone...while completing almost 65% of his passes...Mark friggin Sanchez.

Did I lie about something? I'm stating facts my man. And the fact is, Randy Moss was sorely missed yesterday.

Playoff Football is different my man, you should know this better than a Jets fan.

Because for the Pats:

Seymour + Warren >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Moss outside of '07

Seymour was their best player during the dynasty years...and like Moss a HOF type player with the argument as the GOAT at his position.

Exactly.

With or without Moss, the last few games between our teams, when Brady is clean, the Patriots win.

They did not get to him 6 weeks ago and he was great. Last night, the defense got to him. He was tentative and inaccurate.

It is coulda shoulda woulda. Could Moss make a play? Yes, but your D has shown more than enough capability of shutting him down. "Well, he had that one catch in week 2."

It is funny how little credit you want to give your D.

And during the 8 game win streak without Moss when they scored all those points against a couple of good to great Ds? Did they miss him? Did they miss him on Monday Night?

Your team played better. Moss was not going to make a difference.

to me, it's not even about him making a play. It's about him extending the defense. Brady had nobody open last night as we were squatting on the underneath stuff. You needed someone to stretch us out last night and you didn't have it..

There D was fine last night. One of our TD's was essentially garbage time set up by Cro's return after an onside...and the other was set up by a stupid fake punt. I think we only score 14pts if those two plays didnt occur.

Bottom line is our D out played their O, thats why we won. That might not have happened if Moss was there, his presence was sorely missed. It was obvious.

You are not following...sure they dont miss him when everything is going well...but we disrupted your cutesie little offense. Then you went down by a couple of scores. Like it or not, you offense isnt built to come back from large deficits. Randy Moss helps in these scenarios. Its pretty stinking obvious dude.

Dude, three different organizations gave up on Moss this year. That's gotta be a record. That dude is and was done.

He wasnt done. He gave up and I would to if I was traded to 2 terrible teams with doodoo QBs. He loved being a Patriot.

Their D started some guy named Nimkovich last night...I think...and 6'1 290 Myron Pryror...not to mention the wrong Warren off the scrap heap.

Meh on Seymour. The only player this line even remotely struggled with all season was Mario. Seriously doubt Seymour would have brought anything new to the table with the way this line was playing in recent weeks against guys like Harrison and Peppers.

I think having Seymour and Warren would have been huge. There were multiple times last night where even with a double team, Wilfork abused the middle of that line. If those two were on either side of him, they would have been all over Sanchez the entire game IMO.

Our oline would have handled them...we've seen better and done just fine.

Get back on focus here...their offense was awful. Moss would have helped. I dont see how bring up their D has anything to do with this conversation.
