will
Let's not overly praise the Steelers or Pats. DeCastro is a guard, and this is about where the best guards usually get drafted. It's a fine pick but nothing special. And the Pats took Jones, a guy who's extremely athletic but hasn't put it together yet on the field, and Hightower, who is not known to have great lateral speed (not unlike Harris). Solid picks but I'm happy enough that the Jets took a rangy strong player who is versatile and has a very high ceiling. I'm drinking the bright green Koolaid!!! SenorGato
Yup. I love what they've done on D starting with hiring Wade Phillips... he's done another amazing job there. Piling up athletes/pass rushers in that front 7...Watt, Smith, Barwin, Mercilus, Reed I guess, whoever else....
pointman
lol, just gave neg rep by accident, will fix. Just gotta find out where abouts and rent a space so I can watch and demean.

pointman
Exactly. If we stayed put or hell, even dropped back and picked hightower, our fans would have bugged out. Not me. I try to be optimistic. I just was weary of Coples of all the options. Literally the one guy I was iffy on.
AFJF
The Patriots are so stupid mortgaging their future and stuff. Exactly....good teams don't trade draft picks

LionelRichie
the Jets drafted a day 1 starter, 3 down player, and Coples is instantly the best pass rusher on the team. what is not to like here? Ingram was a great college player, so was Ty Detmer. What position would Ingram even play for the Jets? The Jets put out mis-information that they wanted Ingram in hopes that someone would move up for Ingram and leave Coples on the board, this is the kid they wanted the entire time. pointman
You were more weary of Coples than Jones? Mercilus? Ingram and his size/length? Hmmmmmk. My fault. I hate Jones so didn't even consider him when I made that statement. I really didn't think that Coples was on our radar.

Integrity28
Jets needs for tomorrow: 1 - RT 2 - someone to cover gronkowski 3 - OLB 4 - OL Depth 2 picks on OL? No offensive skill positions? Disagree. Safety yes. OLB would be great. We need a WR though, and a RB would be a nice luxury.

SenorGato
Ok Jenkins is a nice player but really? Point they not only brought Coples in but worked him out at his pro day IIRC... jets showed a ton of interest and he even said they told him he would be he pick if he was there at 16 (on the radio according to forumz). Coples is going to be a nasty player here...Hand picked by Rex Ryan as his pass rusher with EVERYONE available? Um, **** yes?

SenorGato
Looks like it...My Barron obsession kind of ruined any safety in this draft but now that I'm over it (Ish) I can think of the other safeties as people too.

LionelRichie
WR ? or 2 ? rookie wr's rarely contribute. I think the Jets will roll with holmes, kerley, and schilenz and use a lot more 2 TE formations with Keller / Cumberland Not to mention Tebow and the ground and pound.
