joewilly12
The offense will improve after the bye week. Ivory seems to be getting his game on and the WRs namely Salas and Nelson will get more touches

BroadwayJoe12
#30 in touchdowns (ahead of only the jags and the bucs) #28 in total points scored horrible True. But five of our nine games came against teams that had defenses in the top 9 in points allowed and we are 21st in total yards, so it's possible that you see an uptick in points scored in the second half of this season. pedro55
You forgot something #6 in the AFC The jets are 14th in the AFC in points scored, 14th in Points per game & 15th in touchdowns scored. They are 13th in Passing yards, but hey they are 4th in Rushing. Only behind the Raiders, Bills, & Patriots. Seeing the Raiders & Bills lead the league in rushing, not sure how much that stat means much. Where did you get #6? All that matters is points scored and only the Raiders & Jags are worse in the AFC.
j4jets
#30 in touchdowns (ahead of only the jags and the bucs) #28 in total points scored horrible Our offense is 5-4 bad. But five of our nine games came against teams that had defenses in the top 9 in points allowed and we are 21st in total yards, so it's possible that you see an uptick in points scored in the second half of this season. Panthers, Ravens, Browns, even Dolphins aren't teams giving up 30 points a game. We just saw a Panthers team win on the road 10-9 against the defending NFC Championship team who was scoring 30+ points a game. The Ravens held the Bengals to 17 points. Same team who scored 49 on the Jets. The Dolphins held that same Bengals team to what 20 points. And the Browns have one of the better defenses this season, a big reason why they are 4-5 with that QB and offensive mess. The only games that seem like a chance for the offense to shine is against the Bills & Raiders. Anything is possible, but I wouldn't say the defenses get easier the last 7 games thats for sure. slats
Is this surprising to you somehow? The Jets' offense lacks talent everywhere. They have a rookie QB. They have street free agents and practice squad players seeing significant playing time, or even starting, at the WR and TE positions. And yet, the Jets are middle of the pack in yards per game, and -surprisingly- 7th in the league in TOP. All things considered, they're doing better than I expected them to do. Getting Winslow and Holmes back this week should be a shot in the arm, too.
shawn306
The WR's as a whole have been an abortion for the past season and a half which is why Marty was the most important off season move the Jets made this past off season. The fact that he has actually been able to do something with this group of mish mosh or RB's, WR's and TE's has made this team watchable again. I hope they keep Geno and look at the draft next year to start surrounding Geno with some offensive talent.

Kleckineau
This team will go nowhere until the offense improves. The Jet defense stops runners cold but dares passers to beat them which is a losing formula in the playoffs where the very good and great QB's live. Teams tend to play more conservative defensively in the playoffs (except us) because they fear making a mistake and getting burnt. We also have a QB we at least know can find ways to win at the end of games. And he at least has the skill set where I could see him "getting hot". Maybe not anything like Flacco's 11 TD, 0 INT performance last year, but his ceiling is still quite high. Get to the tournament and I like our chances. bitonti
Geno's 29th in Passer rating behind Henne, EJ Manuel, Ponder, Schaub etc. Yes the WR and TE suck but the QB isn't far behind.

No game breakers, just a bunch of try hard guys. Parcells used to call them 'hold the fort' guys. Serviceable, but don't put fear into opponents. Hill COULD, but he still doesn't understand route adjustments on the blitz, so he is more a hazard than help. Winslow II will help in the red zone, but for now it's back to ground and pound and pray our RB's hold up. With Goodson out again, it's an iffy proposition. The secondary is a weakness with Cro looking his age, Milliner getting turned inside out on double moves and Wilson simply sucks. Pass rush is the key. Don't have to have sacks (would be nice) but pressure is important. Geno seems to be taking a step back and maybe the bye will rejuvenate him. Oh and like I told you guys for Years take away elite QB's weaponz (as you jokers like to call them) and Said QB becomes inconsistent and his stats go in the toilet See Tom Brady and Matt Ryan both guys are 30 + TD per year 4k + yards ...not this year. Good points but I cant help feeling that being #1 defending the run and #24 defending the pass is by design and that Rex for some reason game plans that way. JiFtheOracle
Its a miracle the Jets win games how terrible the offense is. Its like they are allergic to the end zone. sh*tty Qb, sh*tty WR's, average RB's, average OL. Not usually the recipe for a good offense.

Long NFL season compared to college game which is in home stretch, then a six week wait for bowl games. Cro looking his age? He's 29. Should be at the peak of his career. Think Cro is looking bad because he's had a few nagging injuries. Hopefully the bye will help him. Wilson is not a #1 DB, but is a pretty decent slot cover guy. Milliner has been awful. Again hoping he bye will help him get on track. Don't think Smith is taking a step back, he has turned the ball over less lately, which is the key. Last couple of games Marty has been protecting him and not letting him lose the game. At some point he has to step up, be able to throw the ball upfield to the guys in green, and not the other guys. He has shown flashes in the past of being able to throw the ball. he has to get more consistent in the last 7 games. Reduce his turn overs by at least 50%. If he can do that, the Jets have a punchers chance. If he can't...................Well, we'll see

The fact that we're putting up points at all is pretty amazing. Last season with a group of receivers that were slightly better, Sanchez had the worst QB season of all-time. Geno, a rookie, is doing better than anticipated with this group of nobodies. We were told NO ONE could win with these guys, yet here we are at 5-4. That's the number that matters most. Looking your age is synonymous with losing your athleticism and that's definitely not the case with Cro: you saw him run down Julio Jones and make a td saving tackle at Atlanta. Whatever his reason for struggling, it's probably not his lack of athleticism. Wilson is actually one of the best Nickel corners in coverage this year, which is not what you spend a first rounder on, but he certainly doesn't suck. Milliner definitely has struggled, but after a good showing last weekend, hopefully he's rounding into form.
