BigRy56
He has ultimately been a disaster everywhere he has gone in the NFL. Was ran out of Philadelphia and fired after 1 year. He's the Rex Ryan of offense only I imagine his ego will be too big to stay as an OC.
win4ever
I would hire him, because I think his system will work well here. It's not like our defense is stopping anyone right now anyway. There are a bunch of these videos on YouTube, so skip over the defensive parts of these videos and just go to the offense. It's not too dissimilar to the one by Gailey but with an up-tempo scheme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY-vooAFLzk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnPhfQk3_8E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oliT7Xlkbmc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF6tf5ZV_vM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USTFACDAtsA
Tinstar
Simple answer is to prevent either him or Todd Bowles from being arrested for assault .

Maxman
Because his offense will never win a Super Bowl in the NFL. The hurry up is great as a change of pace. Not a full time gig. The run and shoot called. It said, 'Sup.

Adoni Beast
I will say this. He has gotten better years out of Foles, Sanchez, and Kaepernick (post Harbaugh) than any other coach. As stated before his offensive philosophy seems to wear out his own team's defense. Also, he seems to have problems working well with others and being n offensive coordinator who isn't in complete control of personnel and over decisions I think may cause friction to a team. While we are rebuilding our roster we also need to be buiding a cohesive and strong culture here. We don't want players or coaches who aren't all on the same page. Also, if the Jets truly believe Hackenberg is their QB of the future and are grooming him as such, you do NOT hire chip kelly. His offense is based on a lot of short quick passes with limited pre snap reads. This is a paradox to Hackenberg's strengths and weakenesses. He struggles with short quick throws, while his strengths are pre snap audibles, line calls, and going deep. None of this fit. But if the Jets have already seen enough of Christian and are fully prepared to move on, then this isn't an issue. Note: chips offense is perfect for a guy like Petty. Now maybe Chip would be great here and his vision would mesh with Bowles/Mac's. But, I'm playing devil's advocate here for both sides of the argument. My own personal opinion. Id rather not hire him, as I think his offense while innovative in some ways, is limiting to a team, exhausting to a defense, and overall gimmicky without enough big time results since he's been in the league. Honestly, its not like his offenses have lit up the league since he's been here. Maybe stat wise in some ways, but eh overall.
56mehl56
43 minutes ago, nj meadowlands said: Insert reasons below. Thanks in advance. Its proven over the course of a 16 game schedule that his system wears the offensive players down to a grind. In addition 40 second 3 and out offensive drives will make our non-elite offense look even crappier. The guy is suited to college football with its shorter schedules and larger rosters. Ex-Rex
3 hours ago, nj meadowlands said: Insert reasons below. Thanks in advance. Because he sucks. His uptempo offense keeps his defense on the field a lot. When you go three and out a couple of times your defense is so gassed it is already down by 10 points. This guy belongs in college and should never, ever try to coach in the NFL again.
thadude
Kelly failed in philly because he never had a qb and alienated good players like McCoy and Jackson His style of offense suits Petty. Lots of no huddle and one read throws with Kelly not the qb saying where to throw to

It's that his quarterbacks were ultimately limited scrubs like Foles, Gabbert and Crapernick Powell would be a beast in his offense. joenamathwouldn'tcry
Because he is a train wreck, is hated everywhere he has been, and mostly because other than being an incredibly overrated football "genius", he is most definitely a major league....................rhymes with RICK
