Leonard "Pink" Floyd

77DRAFT

Recommended Posts

No way Floyd makes it to 20, he might make it to 19.  It would be very interesting if Floyd and Lynch are on the board at 19. I'd be in favor of trading up to get Floyd, he is exactly what this team needs, and Rex Ryan knows that better Mac or Bowles.

But is he EXACTLY what this team needs?

He is. The very thing lacking defensively last year was our rush defense against the quarterback. Floyd's fast enough and strong enough to be able to take the position to get more sacks for this team this year and for many years to come.

That's why my mock draft has the Jets trading for the for the 16th pick overall. Yes I know it's going to cost us or one and a three this year but Leonard Floyd is worth it.

The Jets and the Bills/Rex will become another Jets and the Patriots/Bellichick dynamic.  The irony of the Bills picking one spot ahead of the Jets despite beating them twice is too much to process.  But in any event, I think it worth something to trade up 2 spots to pick ahead of the Bills rather than live with the spectre of the player the Bills pick before the Jets pick.

Lloyd had 4.5 sacks last year and he is supposed to be our pass rusher?  What is going to be so different in the NFL that will make this player even an average player.  first, he is too small to play on running plays so he will only be on the field on obvious passing downs.

so if we are going to take a player with this high of a bust potential, I would prefer it be a QB over a one down defender.

I see him as being strictly a pass-rushing specialist.  That means he doesn't play all three downs.  That means spending a first round pick on him, or worse yet, spending multiple picks to go get him seems too cost prohibitive.

Love the good tape on him, especially the clips where he stretches out and drags down the tiny college QBs by laying out.  But that sh*t don't fly in the NFL.  Big Ben would laugh at his arm tackles, and RBs are going to run OVER him in this league.  He's put on 20 pounds since college, and he is a terror coming off the edge.  But those lean, bendy types are usually more miss-than-hit when it comes to playing with the big boys.  I would rather trade back and get a player with a lightening fast first-step, like Eric Striker, in the 5th round... or a really good blitzing DB, like Karl Joseph in the 2nd.

If he's there he's worth taking but I don't see us trading up for anything other than a QB. I think he'll be gone before 19 too and we just don't have the picks to justify it, even if we got one or two for Mo. This team needs some depth.

He has a lot of question marks, for all his talent.  I think there's better value to be had elsewhere (unless he does fall to 20). I really like Ogbah and would rather trade down or hope he falls to us in the 2nd.

After 6 years of Rex drafting poorly are you really concerned with who the Bills take?  I actually feel good about having them in front of us to take the bust

The 7 first round picks under Rex;  Sanchez, Wilson, Wilkerson, Coples, Milner, Richardson, Pryor

If you feel that way you should be pulling for Spence.  He's the best edge rusher in this draft

Leonard Floyd is appealing to a number of teams , not because his ability to rush the passer( in time could be elite as he  has explosive first step, but needs to develop more pass rushing moves) .  But in his ability to match up in coverage.   At 6'6 245 he is capable of matching up with the Te's and Rb's in coverage.

That is a big thing in today's Nfl( passing league). Everyone looking for those coverage Lb's as much as those pass rushing lb's.      Wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders had interest in Floyd for that reason. ( Bruce Irvin going to be used more rushing the passer, and need another cover lb.

Leonard Floyd is a younger version of Manny Lawson of the Bills. Ex Giant great Carl Banks loves Leonard Floyd as he thinks he's the best lb in this draft.

Agree with Banks, he knows linebackers played with LT, who was my neighbor for years, he kinda reminds me of LT.

I'm not a fan of Floyd, and I'm praying we draft a pass rushing OLB.

Hes like 220 lbs at 6'4"+ or something like that!?? Give me 6'2, 245+ at the position, please.

hell get manhandled, IMO. I keep thinking Dion Jordan

The fact is Leonard Floyd showed up at the combine at 6'6 246 ( official measurements). 39' vertical .   Even though !eonard Floyd still needs work in his pass rush , he has that rare first step( consistently gets off the ball first - very Von Miller like in that regard).

Leonard Floyd at Georgia line up a lot inside when ever they were in the nickel defense.  In the NFL defenses are in the nickel 70 % of the time.       Leonard Floyd is a young Manny Lawson , and you can use him in variety of roles.( pass rusher, and as coverage Lb).

LT weighed 241 at 6 - 3.  Floyd is going to be 6 -6 255 / 260.   BEAST OF BURDEN

Pro football Weekly said he doesn't have the frame to put on much more weight.  I don't know, I've never met the guy but if we want a coverage LB, Bowles usually likes big safeties, which there are several in this draft and don't have to be taken at 20.

Jarvis Jones 2.0 - the production in college = bust in the NFL.

HUGE underachiever.  He's small and cant shed blocks.  He'll be an absolute liability in the run game and for someone who's supposed to be an edge rush specialist, he barely touched the QB in the college.

Someone will love the way this kid looks on the practice field.  He's a slick athlete, who's got moves and bend and everything you want in a pass rusher but when it comes down to it, he gets over powered and just lacks production.

He's at 246 so 9 lbs isn't a lot to get to 255, who knows if they want him  ? There are a couple of decent edge LB'sout there, and we need a dominant player at the position, probably have decent depth already, we've got a big S for sure.

4.5 sacks vs college talent? Please let this kid be drafted before 20 to push some better players down, others have already mentioned Maybin, Mingo, Jordan ect. Jets would get more 1st year production out of Ragland for gods sake.

Jets don't have enough to offer to move up. They will stay where they are and pick the BPA period. I hope Noah Spence is there, but we all know that he is exactly the kind of guy Rex Ryan has been dreaming of since they took Quentin Coples, who was supposed to be that guy. I hope Floyd is there because the Bills GM will want the more polished guy and not the guy with 'character issues'.

Would love Noah Spence as welll, happy to take the guy Rex passes on, he obviously can't really pick corners

or OLBs.

Leonard Floyd Highlights

Dion Jordan Highlights.

And Dion Jordan was actually bigger than Leonard Floyd. (Dion 6'6 275, Floyd 6'4 231). Floyd weighed 250 at the combine which is 20lbs more than the weight he played at, yet still 25 lbs less than Jordan's NFL weight.

No. Absolutely not.

Money was never a problem for LT.  Passed him every night while running in opposite directions, he knew I was

Hhmmmm ... Hope he wasn't stopping off at your pad to say hi to the wife while the Jet fan neighbor was gone.
