32EBoozer
Some have quarterback Paxton Lynch going in the top 10 of the draft. As the draft approaches, some have him not going in round one at all. (Maybe Lynch wasn’t able to whip up a sufficiently impressive soufflé.) Adam Schefter of ESPN says this: “Someone may be laying in ambush, but unless Dallas trades back into first round, hard to find a landing spot for [Lynch].” Some have suggested that the Saints could target Lynch. (That’s not happening.) Others have linked Lynch to the Jets. Rich Cimini of ESPN.com says that’s not happening, either. “Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch is the player most commonly linked to the Jets in mock drafts (including by me in the televised NFL Nation mock draft on Tuesday night), but I no longer believe that will happen,” Cimini writes. “I received late information on Lynch, and the sense I get is the organization has concerns about his maturity and ability to adjust to a pro-style offense. There’s a lot of smoke leading up to the draft, and sometimes it takes a while to see through it.” Then again, this may still be part of the smoke. As the process approaches, it become more, not less, important to keep people guessing. And there’s nothing like floating fake information to help a team keep its true intentions concealed. Besides, who ever goes back and dissects what was and wasn’t true in the days and weeks before the draft? Fans want to look ahead to the next thing; after the draft, the next thing to which to look forward is training camp, where all the rookies get thrown into a blender with all the veterans and we thereafter only pay attention to the rookies who get a chance to play — and who play well. For now, the objective of every team is doing anything they can to keep their real plans hidden.

77DRAFT
Two idiots predict Lynch to Jets 24 hours before draft, 12 hours before draft they predict Lynch free fall into second round. The only team that can show its cards is the team with the number one pick, these guys somehow missed Lynch's rise and now they predict an epic fall, could happen it happened to Geno and Petty. If teams see a team on the clock getting phone calls, they know who wants to move up for who, I believe there is an outside chance the Jets move up for Lynch, but that someone like the Niners or Browns go ahead and draft him,

Your premise is that they set up a separate paid league and that they will still be college kids. I'm sure that is going to work out very well when 3/4 of the now paid developmental kids no longer give a sh*t about their classes. If you would have merely said 'These kids are getting ripped off they should get some kind of pay other than scholarships' then you'd have a reasonable point. Saying they should start a paid developmental league separate from college ball and yet all the kids are still going to college is laughable. Well paying them as college players is a separate issue which I do agree with. However that doesn't fix the issue that NCAA football is a joke. Don't think you could allow the NFL to run college ball. So only other option is a separate league. Perhaps the legitimate threat alone would push college ball to stop being so "gimmicky". varjet
I think it depends on the team, what they need, and who's available. For a team that needs a QB, Lynch is a project and not a sure thing. So if your choice is a player that is more of a sure thing and early contributor, you pick them. That is probably where the Cowboys, Niners and Browns come out. Jets and Bills? Different story. varjet
Someone help me here-Roethisberger and Flacco were both picked in the middle of the first round. They were big, athletic and strong but obviously played for small schools against inferior competition. They ended up as players the Jets would probably love to have. What are people seeing in Lynch that would not make those two examples a good comparison? The fact that he did not take a snap under center? Wonderlic score? What I find interesting about Lynch is the fact that he completed well over 60% of his passes throwing to nobody receivers. Were Cooks and Hackenburg's percentages so much worse because they were throwing AGAINST good defensive backs.
