JetNation
The Jets wrapped up minicamp today and will now look ahead to training camp in August as Robert Saleh prepares his team for the grind of the NFL’s first ever 17-game schedule which the Jets will kick off in Carolina on September 12th. So if one were to take a stroll through Jets twitter from those in attendance while listening to the coaches, what can we take away? Zach Wilson is a “fast study”. This, according to Jets passing game coordinator Gregg Knapp who praised Wilson’s ability to adjust arm angles and make quick throws. #Jets passing game specialist Greg Knapp calls QB Zach Wilson a "fast study." Says Wilson has "a very natural arm talent" and "natural throwing motion," and easily can change arm angles. Impressed by how Wilson can adjust his throws quickly. — Dennis Waszak Jr. (@DWAZ73) June 16, 2021 Through rookie camp and minicamp it seems a good number of those throws went to rookie receiver Elijah Moore who earned effusive praise from coaches and pundits alike. This is a very good thing for the Jets offense moving forward. Having Moore making highlight reel grabs every day along with rookie running back Michael Carter impressing as a receiver out of the backfield should be plenty of reason for Jets fans to smile. On defense, one of the biggest surprises has been the emergence of undrafted free agent cornerback Isaiah Dunn. Signed out of Oregon State, we initially said Dunn had a legitimate chance to make the roster, but if he keeps making plays, he may become a regular on a group with very little NFL experience. Oregon State CB Isaiah Dunn is a guy the Jets coveted as a priority free agent. Gave him $200K deal which is a decent chunk for UDFA. Has a shot to make the 53 given the lack of depth the Jets have at the position. pic.twitter.com/wLk2boMymt — Glenn Naughton (@AceFan23) May 14, 2021 ESPN reporter Rich Cimini touted two other cornerbacks in Jason Pinnock and Bryce Hall on the final day of minicap. If the Jets are going to have any success at all in 2021, they’re going to need some of these young cornerbacks to grow up in a hurry. Also getting a quick mention from Cimini was undrafted free agent defensive lineman Michael Dwumfour. Cracking this group of D-linemen for an undrafted free agent is just about impossible, but Dwumfour has shown some impressive traits on film with both Michigan and Rutgers. Not a ton of production in college but Jets UDFA DL Michael Dwumfour who transferred rom Michignan to Rutgers has a very impressive first step and active hands. Long shot to stick with such a deep group, but you can see why the Jets want to kick the tires. pic.twitter.com/Z83YTrkq4Y — Glenn Naughton (@AceFan23) May 12, 2021 One development during camp that will be worth watching when training camp opens up is Tyler Kroft running with the starters over Chris Herndon. We mentioned Kroft as a guy who could surprise and make the roster, but stealing the starting job would come as a surprise. More Cowbell
Im not sure if Dunn looking so good means we found a gem or is an indication of how much all the other DB's suck

jgb
Becomes clearer every day that our offense will be the higher ranked unit than our defense this year 1
DepressedJetsFan23
I don’t personally put too much stock into these reviews of who looks good in camp and what not. But overall I am happy to see there seems to be a good feel around the team not just a straight “this team stinks” vibe

Beerfish
I'm actually pretty optimistic about our corners, we added a lot of guys ans with the somewhat promising incumbents I am not too worried, especially with the defense we will be playing. Safety is a bit of a question for me depth wise. We are loaded on dline. I hope that we can trade one of the excess good guys we have rather than having to just cut guys. 2

At some point, it's better to stop bringing in washed up bums and instead give the kids a shot. 1 1

Season can't be worse than last year when everyone quit on Gase. Im ok with sucking. The not trying last year finally broke me after 6 weeks. Warfish
I cannot wait to get to actual preseason games, and away from the "cliché season". It's going to be exciting to see Wilson actually play, and start being able to evaluate him and his play for real, instead of this endlessly hot-air coach-speak time of year. 2

Agreed, watching Sam sleepwalk through the entire season and Flacco like a guy at a retirement home trying to show everyone “ he still has it” while it’s Crystal clear he doesn’t was excruciating. So far I got him 100% less socially awkward than I thought he would be, but beyond that gotta wait till they play the game to see if they can play the game.

Actually I am pretty optimistic about the entire team as I am totally on board the vision JD has on building a consistent winner and how Saleh has the team excited to play for him While It is great to hear the reports about how Zach and the rest of the young guys look I have to agree with a number of posters that we should pump the brakes and not anoint them as hall of famers just yet as they still haven’t played a professional game but it is nice that it seems like the Jets are finally emerging from a dismal decade of football. I believe it’s going to be an exciting season

HighPitch
Man with all them picks next draft? CB, OL, O weapon, edge should be a quick turn around if this is a solid draft and the coaches are the real deal. Never been more optimistic since
