Getting another one of their own locked up before the start of free agency, the Jets have agreed to terms on a 1-year contract with restricted free agent tight end Kenny Yeboah.

TE Kenny Yeboah, a restricted free agent, is going back to the Jets on a one-year deal, per source. #frenzy@nflnetwork @NFLonFOX

An undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss, Yeboah will be entering his fourth pro season.  He has seen little action since signing with the Jets at the conclusion of the 2020 college season but was always viewed as a longshot developmental player.

Having parted ways with fellow tight end CJ Uzomah just a few days ago, this may mean a bump up the depth chart for Yeboah or just a shot to make the roster if Gang Green adds another tight end through free agency or the draft.

Gonna see a lot of this signing depth picks that will mean very little for the over all talent of the team. I almost think it's the better thing for Joe to do. Because when he really pays guys it typically doesn't pan out.

The Jets use about 50% of their roster on developmental players and give them 4-5 years to “show flashes”.

Trust the process harder!
