He’s got a 49.4 grade which is horrible. He seems like he’s been effective to me, but I’m not a PFF level talent evaluator.

Some of you just put WAAAAAAAAY too much stock in these PFF grades.

PFF = Hot steaming garbage.

Yes, 6 sacks in 3 games is not good.

You can’t make this stuff up, members bring up pff, ha, my eyes tell me he’s playing well!!! As I’m re watching the game on NFL network and he gets a sack!!! Soon, I’m gonna create a bogus system to determine whether guys playing well/bad and makes millions off of it.

Mods, please institute a rule that you cannot open a thread until you have posted "x" amount of times.

This will stop posters from creating new logins just to start threads to spread the d-i-s-e-a-s-e.

The narrative on the board needs to change now.  We are a wining team.  The d-i-s-e-a-s-e needs to be eradicated at all costs.

The people demand it and The P-E-O-P-L-E's Captain will not let them down!

Will McDonald had 1 sack last week where a running back knocked him over and the QB tripped over him. He had 1 this week where he wasn’t blocked.

Do sacks not count when you u go unblocked now?

Using tat logic Strahan is a pretender because some players former GB QB laid down on purpose to let him claim the record from 99

I mean that last sack was a farce for sure.

The issue is more that PFF is (supposedly) measuring repeatable football success. So a sack where a QB trips over a fallen edge rusher is gonna go down as a lost rep by the Edge rusher. Statistically he gets a sack but qualitatively he gets nothing or possibly even a negative score.

So sacks are great to get in a game but don’t really tell you if that player is going to have repeatable continued success in order to merit a higher contract. What PFF hasn’t seemed to realize yet tho is that there is a skill to finishing a play and it has historically undervalued that.

FWIW PFF only rewards sacks that come as a result of beating the blocker in front of you, and McDonald has a couple this year where the QB either fell down or he came mostly unblocked.

Yep however in one of the analysis posted earlier there is sack where WMD recognizes a pay from earlier in the game and avoids the same mistake which allows him to get the sack. On that play he was unblocked but his recognition of the situation allows him to get to the QB where previously he hesitated and the QB was able to throw over his head.

I’m willing to bet PFF doesn’t account for that adjustment.

This is why I pay for PFF. I’m not getting suckered into Will McDonald like everyone else on this board. I’ll let the experts tell me who is playing well.
