Even if Ulbrich demotes Hackett from playcalling, it's still this egg of an offensive system left in the hands of a lousy offensive coaching staff to run. Downing isn't exactly a top tier OC.

Timing on wearing a heritage patch is everything. Just look at the news. The NFL designated certain weeks for coaches to express their heritage. Last year it was weeks 7 and 8.  September 29th 2024 was not one of them. (Personally I think all this stuff is bs and politics or heritage or other social crap should have no role in this game). If u didn’t notice, the internet and social media, whether it was warranted or not, went ballistic when Saleh wore the patch - that kind of stuff is not lost on Johnson. 

This was a bizarre firing in terms of timing. Something set off Johnson to fire a coach mid week - a last straw so to speak. 
 

And yes Aaron Rodgers did not go running into Johnson’s office crying to fire Saleh. But you will conveniently ignore all the stories that Rodgers had nothing to do with this to suit your bias.

You are correct.  If you wanted Saleh gone, they should have done it in the offseason.  But Rodgers wanted Saleh around because he knew he had power over him.  Rodgers only changed his spots after his 3 int performance snd he needed a scapegoat.

A real organization would have fired hackett and then if that didnt work, you let Saleh go towards the end of the year or the offseason.

And yes, Joe D is now gone as well.  He was overriden on his coach and the firing of hackett.  He refused to take part in the saleh firing.

He is a figurehead gm until january when it will be announced they mutually agreed to part ways.

To answer your last part, no Rodgers will not pick the hc or new gm.  He has a game or 2 left in him b4 hes seriously injured and will miss the rest of the season.  He will then retire.

I do believe he has been promised a small ownership in the jets snd that will be announced sometime in the future.

removing Saleh and promoting Ulrich might have messed up the best thing about this team. the defense. we just got rid of the architect ( Saleh) and the guy who ran the day to day operations ( Ulrich) of the defense.

i would have left Saleh and Ulrich right where they were until after the season. dont mess with the defense. only good thing we have going for us.
