nyjetsjetsjets
You say a bunch of cheaters. Do you think every single player from top to bottom was in on this? I cheer for the players, not the coaches. if anything then, shoudn't you then be demanding that the coaches and front office play fairly, as this will embarass the entire team, not just the coaches. this would be a black eye over the entire franchise. forever branded cheaters. im sorry, but thats the team as a whole, not the individual players. i cheer for the team, from top to bottom. if anything the front office and coaches are more "team" than the players are. players come and go, the pats will always be the pats. Alk
I don't cheer injuries on anyone's team, that was just uncalled for and baseless. You're a POS. Oh I'm sorry. Please accept my insincere apologies. I was going to say something nasty but you're not worth it. I did generalize, but you failed to generalize and only accused me to go and cheer on injuries on my team. I won't bother quoting as you've probably edited it by now. And I consider that a personal attack, and a very serious one at that. I'll stand by what I said earlier as it still applies, maybe more so, you're a POS. Irish Jet
If its true Kerry Rhodes said this: "(Brady) seemed like he knew what we were doing," safety Kerry Rhodes said. flgreen
Forfeit won't happen. Not only would it effect the Pats, it would also effect the Bills and Fish. Actually it would effect every team that is trying to squeeze in for a wild card. Example: Suppose the Pats still win the AFCE after the Jets are awarded the win. The Jets win the last wild card spot due to the forfeit. Some team gets punished, and loses their wild card, due to a game that was awarded to the Jets that they had no chance to win. There would be a fire storm. This is a very interesting story. Seems like it is the Pats third time they will be caught. Couple of differences from Green Bay. One, they have the tape. If it is nothing but D hand signals, that is serious business. The New York media is involved. This isn't Green Bay. The NY media love stories like these. "Tales of the Border Wars" LOL Another interesting aspect of this is the Mangini factor. It would seem this is something that has been going on for awhile. Mangini was DC up there. He had to know about it. I suspect this will cost them one of their 1st rounders. Nice if it were awarded to the Jets. Won't be

serphnx
There needs to be serious punishment if this turns out to be true (and by all indications, it's almost impossible it isn't) to prevent others from doing this. I don't believe a forfeit, because there are just too many other things to that. However, I do believe the Pats should lose a home game (that is, the Jets don't go to Foxboro for the next game) and 2 first round draft picks (the next 2 years). This is just something you can't excuse or let go. If this is what happened then you have to really wonder what BB was thinking, and if he's been doing this frequently before (there's at least one report of this happening before, and who knows if it's happened and not been caught) it really casts a shadow over a lot of what the Patriots have achieved. Just a stupid move imo.

GREEN FIEND
Ever since Mangini got the best of his mentor last year on that glorious day in Foxboro, the Patriots have DOMINATED us. Is their offense really that superior to the Jets defense? Could we really be out of position on every play? I truly believe that Belichick would do anything and everything he could to never have that feeling in his gut again....including cheating. To quote Kerry Rhodes after the game, "It seemed like (Brady) knew what we were doing; it seemed like he made all the right checks. I guess we have to do a better job of hiding things." Is it coincidence that Brady hasn't really even been pressured by our defense since that triumphant Sunday afternoon last November? Can Brady really make ALL the right reads? Now, with the confiscated video camera from the Patriots sideline and the accusations that are coming to the surface, are we Jets fans bitter...or justified? i remember shea
from espn.com The Patriots' cameraman was suspected of aiming his camera at the Jets' defensive coaches who were sending signals to their unit on the field, the sources said. The league also is investigating some radio frequency issues that occurred during the game. The league's competition committee could conduct a conference call about the incident, which violates NFL policy, and ultimately recommend a penalty that could cost the Patriots a future draft pick or picks if it is verified. It's not their first time," a member of the committee, who did not wish to be identified, said. New England cornerback Ellis Hobbs said he was unaware of the controversy, and unwilling to believe his team had cheated. "We put too many hours in as individuals and a team to have to go out and cheat," he said. "If it's true, obviously, we're in the wrong. But I'm standing behind my team, my coaches. BUM-KNEE
I found this from 06, Dolphins Knew Brady's Audibles? Posted Dec 12th 2006 2:34PM by Rustin Legendre Filed under: Dolphins, AFC East The Dolphins are thoroughly convinced that the Patriots stole Miami's defensive signals prior to New England's 23-16 victory in Miami last season. Sunday, the Dolphins decided to get even. The Dolphins actually purchased tapes with audio of the signals Tom Brady calls out at the line of scrimmage (where in the hell did they get that?) and knew what protection the Pats would play. Then, the Dolphins brought pressure accordingly. They listened to Brady's calls during the game Sunday and knew where to blitz and what gaps to attack. I thought Nick Saban and Bill Belichick were good friends. Sounds like it's a no-holds-barred relationship. I guess all is fair in love and war. My question is: Is this going to set a precedent in the NFL? Will there be an underground market for audio tapes of quarterbacks' line calls? What ever happened to just blocking, tackling and beating the man in front of you?
RSJ
My question is: Is this going to set a precedent in the NFL? Not if the NFL comes down hard on teams that are caught. Otherwise yes this will be the norm.
nyjetsjetsjets
link? Well, I was going by what I heard on the radio here in Pittsburgh, but a quick search found this by Mortenson... Monday, September 10, 2007 Sources: Camera confiscated after claims of Pats spying on Jets By Chris Mortensen ESPN.com NFL security confiscated a video camera and its tape from a New England Patriots employee on the team's sideline during Sunday's game against the Jets in a suspected spying incident, sources said. The camera and its tape were placed in a sealed box and forwarded to the league office for investigation, the sources said. "We don't have any comment," an NFL spokesman said Monday. The Patriots' cameraman was suspected of aiming his camera at the Jets' defensive coaches who were sending signals to their unit on the field, the sources said. The league also is investigating some radio frequency issues that occurred during the game. The league's competition committee could conduct a conference call about the incident, which violates NFL policy, and ultimately recommend a penalty that could cost the Patriots a future draft pick or picks if it verifies that the team was spying on the Jets. "It's not their first time," a member of the committee, who did not wish to be identified, said. In fact, Green Bay Packers president Bob Harlan confirmed a similar incident that occurred when the Patriots played at Lambeau Field last Nov. 19. The same cameraman who was questioned by NFL security on Sunday was also the one whom the Packers removed from the sideline and escorted from the field during their 2006 game, according to Packers security official Doug Collins. "From what I can remember, he had quite a fit when we took him out," Harlan said. "We had gotten word before the game that they [the Patriots] did this sort of thing, so we were looking for it." A Jets official declined comment Monday, directing an inquiry to the league office. The Patriots also did not have immediate comment. "With anything along those lines, those are all league-related matters, and anything that deals with an issue like this or anything on a team-by-team basis, those all go to the league," coach Eric Mangini said in his news conference Monday. I don't think we do that stuff." Chris Mortensen covers the NFL for ESPN. Information from The Associated Press contributed to this story.

Thinking you have the trust and confidence of your coaches to go out there and win a football games against a division rival. Then you find out that your coaches didn't trust you or have enough confidence in you at all. The coach and members of his staff think they need to go out and cheat in order to win a game. SeniorFlaJet
I'm not entirely sold on these allegations yet. Let me explain. I sit in the front row behind the visiting team bench. I'm about 10 feet from the bench. Most teams generally have the defensive team on that side. This the third home game I have been at when they play the Pats. One thing I can say about Belli, that I don't see other head coaches do is the flwg: After every defensive series by his team, he comes over and talks to them at length showing them the copies of the offensive team and sometimes I can hear the instructions he gives them. I would estimate he spends a couple of minutes doing this. I would say he did that yesterday until the game was out of hand. Also I there was one coach who really kept on top of the D players. There were some Pat fans sitting behind me and I asked them who it was and it turned out to be our old friend Pepper Johnson. He is their defensive line coach. MY point is and I may be out in left field on this is if he was getting the signals from the Jet bench why put so much effort into the coaching effort? I don't know what the other D coaches were doiing. There was a guy in red shirt also giving instructions but I don't know what is job was.
