Brian Schottenheimer is the Rams O\C: MERGED

The only way Bradford is done is if his glass body breaks, but the Rams have been pretty careful with that I think.

Let's not all be shocked when a highly touted young QB who knows wtf he's doing on an NFL football field out performs the likes of Chad Pennington/Kellen Clemens/Mark Sanchez/Geriatric Favre.

This is a great spot for Schotty. He's getting his chance to prove himself once and for all. We shall see what he's got. Bwaha.

Maybe the 5th's time is the charm

Everyday I wake up shaking in a cold sweat thinking about what could have been with those first 4 guys, especially the first two. CP always had that look of hope in his eyes...Clemens of wonder...if you see them today...those looks are gone...long gone...It's so sad what could have...nay...what SHOULD HAVE been.

I am happy for Schotty. This season was more Tanny's fault than anybody. The Rams will make the playoffs next year unless everyone gets injured again. Fisher may also do some of the play calling as well. I think this is an excellent shot for him to prove himself.

Apparently Jeff Fisher is an idiot?

That's just ridiculous. We all know in the history of the NFL a poor coaching hire has never been made. Clearly Schotty has now just officially been proven to be great at his job.

I just can't believe that Bradford turned out to be such a complete bust in the future when over the next two years his play regresses. Man, Schotty just can't catch a break!

St. Louis message boards should be fun to check out around November or so.

'But this is the guy that MADE Brees and Rivers! Surely he must know what he's doing with double reverses on 2nd and 30 to Lloyd and ******* up conference championship games and not knowing how to manage a clock to save his life. This is all part of his plan! All NFL teams run the same plays anyways.'

I'm happy as hell for him too - but nowhere near as gleeful as I am that he's not with the Jets.

Make sure you come back to get all the praise you will deserve for this visionary observation. All they were missing was an uber clever play caller - and now they sure have that.

How long before he gets tired of dialing up 50 minutes of defensive pressure?

I'm going to say ~8 months would be the starting point. ~8. Not 8. Just ~8. That's actually the earliest it could start, unless he's already tired by preseason. My guess is that both of those guys do alright for themselves over there.

Much like Rex runs the Jets' defense, Fisher will run the Rams' offense, so it is doubtful he will be looking for a great OC anyway. If you want a smash-mouth run-oriented offense, then it makes sense to have a QB like Sanchez who is willing to play second fiddle to the running backs. In that same vein, if you are the head coach, and you want to run the offense yourself, then it makes sense to have an OC like Brian Schottenheimer; just tell him to hold the clipboard and stay the hell out of the way.

Let it be noted, right now, that Sam Bradford is considered a great and promising prospect who appears to no one to be a bust.

I feel it's important to establish this so that, in two years, when everyone is sitting around talking about how bad Sam Bradford is playing we know whose fault it is.

Bradford was dreadful this year.. What are you watching

Much like the plays he called, Brian Schottenheimer is learning that things can be a little confusing.

On Sunday night, Mike Lombardi of NFL.com reported that the St. Louis Rams offered, and the former New York Jets offensive coordinator accepted, the position of offensive coordinator on Jeff Fisher’s staff.

Now, Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that former Oakland Raiders coach Hue Jackson will interview for the job.

While Schottenheimer is still considered the favorite, Hue will get his chance to impress.

Schottenheimer left his position with the Jets to pursue other opportunities, including a meeting with the University of Alabama for its offensive coordinator vacancy. The Jets didn’t waste time in replacing Schottenheimer, hiring former Dolphins coach Tony Sparano to take over their offense.

Hue Jackson is Black. More then likely this is just an exercise in the stupid minority hiring rule

I believe that only applies to the HC job, I could be wrong.

I think its more about Hue Jackson being a better candidate, and Schotty sucks.
