Francouer couldn't hold Heyward's jock as a player before this year. Francoeur lit it up big time when he first arrived, and always played a fine RF with with one of the best arms at the position. Granted Heyward is the better all round outfielder and a fine one. But Offensively Heyward looks just like him. A big slow swing. Look how that caught up to Francoeur. Heyward looks like the the same thing is happening to him. He'll never live up to that big year offensively. Francoeur's first year and a half were similar. Congrats Cubbies

Francoeur is a gold glove right fielder with a cannon. They both swing the same and it's caught up to Heyward more so than Francoeur actually. That's okay, Heyward is a fine RF. Just that he's not a very good offensive player.

The same thing that happened to Francoeur is happening to Heyward. It's a very valid comparison because their approach is very similar...long swings. The league caught up to Francoeur and now Heward. Look at what Francoeur did early in his career. He was better than Heyward actually. Yeah, Heyward is a nice looking athlete and a good Outfielder. He's not a very good offensive player because is approach at the plate is bad and his swing is too loooong.

These guys have dramatically different approaches and performances. Francouer does not stack with Heyward, they are not similar performers during their careers, and insisting otherwise is not going to change that. It is all in the numbers. Mets fans here have been relentlessly wrong about the Cubs all year, this is yet another case of that. Just a simple comparison and the actual reason for Heyward's difficulties and you're bent out shape. Why would you even care at this point? Heyward is never gonna have the career Francoeur had in the end. Look at the numbers. You overrating Heyward and underrating Francoeur. But that was never my real point. The point is their swings are similar and that's the reason why they both tailed off after great starts to their careers. The league caught up to them for the same reason. That was point. Not your Mets fans conspiracy hang up, lol
