Well, actually, Cowher started his career with 6 straight winning season and went to the SB in his 4th. Unless Rex leads the Jets to the SB this year he won't approach that.

You think winning seasons will appease these sharks? Back to back AFC Championship appearances and a year later he's a monumental failure. Nothing short of winning the SB in dominant fashion will soothe some of these guys.

Look no further than Andy Reid for what a manical fanbase does to a successful coach who has yet to win it all.

Actually, you don't get a trophy or banner or ring for losing in the AFC Championship Game. Teams only get trophies/banners/rings for winning the division, the conference, and SB. Rex hasn't accomplished any of that. There is a HUGE difference between getting to the SB and merely getting to a conference title game.

So if Cowher leads the Jets to an AFC Championship but loses in the SB, I don't think the "sharks" would be after him.

Plus, you forget your history. Reid was killed in Philly close to 10 yrs ago because his team kept losing in the NFCCG. It was only after he finally won one that the critics got off his back.

I'm going to Taco Bell but when I get back I'm going to obliterate your points.

What a bunch of pansies.

I don't care what he says. I care how they play. Bill Belichick can shove the bulletin board up his ass. It doesn't mean anything. People want to hate Rex so they jump on this kind of sh*t. He's not a ****ing politician. He's a football coach. I'm tired of the head coach being a two faced bitch politician.

Word! Quoted for truth!

Who said monumental failure???

God... you people twist words so bad.. Are you guys sure you dont write for the NY Post or appear on WFAN???

He's a mediocre coach who has lost 2 AFC championship games, has had 1 good season, and the team looks lost and heading for another mediocre .500 season.

So because Jets head coaches suck, it means Rex doesnt? Ok.

Here's a better stat:

9-7

8-8

3-3

11-5

3 mediocre seasons and 1 good season mixed in. He's a mediocre coach.

Nice work.

So if I read this accurately in the history of the JETS there are only 3 coaches who have had a winning record, Parcells, Al Groh and Rex Ryan.

And for coaches who coached more than one season it comes down to Parcells and Ryan. What a slapd1ck duo!

How many good coaches would you say are in the NFL today? And who are they?

Tomlin.

McCarthy

Payton (bounties and all)

Smith is like Rex... close but not there yet.

Belichick and his ****

Coughlin... guy wins when his back is against the wall

So 5 guys who are top-notch coaches.

4 guys who are brand new

and a bunch of guys who are mediocre to sucktastic.

For me, this isnt just about Rex. I dont think any player, coach , owner, should ever give the media any good quotes or sound bites. It will never benefit them.

It certainly doesn't seem to hurt, either. Remember all the smack we talked before beating New England in their building in the playoffs? It wasn't just Rex either, it was a whole bunch of guys.

it hurts a hell of a lot more than it helps. Saying nothing never hurts. Unless youre with a dominatrix. then it might.

Society has taught me to be sensitive. Cant go back on it now.

oh come onnn, you're a Jets fan. society can't teach you sensitivity. you have learned that life is cruel from a young age and it has made you tough. you have a properly dark and cynical outlook. feelings are for the weak.

They are already upset becuase they lost to the Seahawks. Now he is going to give them bulletin board material.....

It really has to make you wonder......

Yeah now they REALLY want to win. Honestly, I don't know where this assinine line of thinking started but it should have stayed there. Like they were going to be lulled to ****ing sleep, getting drunk all night the night before and showing up to the game with one shoe and mismatching ****ing socks.

Yeah, that's what's made the Patriots so great the last ten years or so. Bulletin board material.

Holy ****ing sh*t.

Both Harbaugh's belong on list. Kubiak, Shanny, Mike Smith, Lovie Smith.

All very good coaches.
