KRL
- For the first time ever I actually wouldn't mind if we lose the rest of our games. Anything that makes access to Marcus Mariota, Amari Cooper or Jameis Winston easier the better - I'm petrified of Winston because of his off the field garbage. But after watching him this weekend against FLA I'm also concerned about his footwork. From what I've heard from retired QB's on TV (Warner, Esiason, Pennington) accuracy of your throws comes from your feet. And Winston's feet seem to be all over the place when he throws. They'll be pointing straight as he tries to throw to his right and his throws sail. Four INT's was Geno-like and that's not acceptable - As I said before if we go after Mariota WE MUST BRING IN A HC/OC WHO KNOWS HOW TO RUN Chip Kelly's offense!!! It would make no sense to try to convert him to a pocket QB - I love Cooper not just for his talent but the way he conducts himself on the field. As he was killing AUB there were no "Santonio Holmes displays" he would just catch balls and score TD's and hand the ball back to the ref like Curtis Martin. How refreshing - Never thought much of Marvin Lewis as a coach but he won a game by himself yesterday. TB had moved to the CIN 20 yard line and was setting up for a game winning FG. But Lewis threw his challenge flag to get the ref's attention and finally call a time out. Which allowed the booth to review TB's last play and they had too many men on the field. So they negated TB's last completion and then tacked on a 5 yard penalty which moved them out of FG range - Watch out for SEA in the NFC they've gotten healthy and they are playing with that nasty edge they had in the playoffs last year. I'm going to be very surprised if they don't win the NFC West over ARZ. ARZ is struggling to score points with Stanton and I think they are going to stumble - I guess the magic dust has worn off of Brian Hoyer in CLE. Another awful performance against BUF, it just shows that you can't judge a QB on a couple of decent games
#27TheDominator
I'm not in love with Hoyer, but Buffalo has a serious D. Board logic is that Vick and Geno suck, so the Bills D is mediocre, but they have been a top 5 D most of the year.
GandWFan
Hi KRL, Welcome. I always look forward to your insightful posts. I hope we can get Marcus Mariota. Don't want Winston. No more thug turds. The experts say Mariota is NFL ready. I'm ready to suck for the Duck.
faba
Cooper is the stud. Mariotta can he be a pocket passer- Jets might have to take that chance because we need to take chances to find a QB
Warfish
- For the first time ever I actually wouldn't mind if we lose the rest of our games. Anything that makes access to Marcus Mariota, Amari Cooper or Jameis Winston easier the better Doesn't matter what we want or don't want. We're likely to win at least 1-2 more games, and be out of the running for the top picks. - I'm petrified of Winston because of his off the field garbage. Four INT's was Geno-like and that's not acceptable Of course the Jets, if they're in position, will draft the "troubled" QB prospect. We always draft the wrong guys, or guys with issues, or workout wonder guys, or other guys who are exceptionally "suspect" as to their future potential or attitude or work ethic or criminality. - As I said before if we go after Mariota WE MUST BRING IN A HC/OC WHO KNOWS HOW TO RUN Chip Kelly's offense!!! It would make no sense to try to convert him to a pocket QB Don't hold your breath, we're not running Chip Kelly in 2015. - I love Cooper not just for his talent but the way he conducts himself on the field. As he was killing AUB there were no "Santonio Holmes displays" he would just catch balls and score TD's and hand the ball back to the ref like Curtis Martin. How refreshing Martin-types are few and far between in 2015. Everyone is an egotistical showboat drama-queen in the NFL today. - Never thought much of Marvin Lewis as a coach but he won a game by himself yesterday. TB had moved to the CIN 20 yard line and was setting up for a game winning FG. But Lewis threw his challenge flag to get the ref's attention and finally call a time out. Which allowed the booth to review TB's last play and they had too many men on the field. So they negated TB's last completion and then tacked on a 5 yard penalty which moved them out of FG range Lewis is Rex Ryan. He'll never win anything meaningful, and does just enough (or gets lucky enough, or is liked enough) to not get fired. also a supposed "defensive genius" who just isn't. - Watch out for SEA in the NFC they've gotten healthy and they are playing with that nasty edge they had in the playoffs last year. I'm going to be very surprised if they don't win the NFC West over ARZ. ARZ is struggling to score points with Stanton and I think they are going to stumble SEA will be active in the post, but will not be in the Super Bowl. - I guess the magic dust has worn off of Brian Hoyer in CLE. Another awful performance against BUF, it just shows that you can't judge a QB on a couple of decent games Hoyer is a JAG.

BigRy56
Glad you're here! One of the best posters from JI. I think that the dream scenario for a Jets offseason is Jim Harbaugh at head coach and Mariota in the first round. Also I couldn't agree more about Amari Cooper. I think he's the real deal and will be a real force in the league. He's the 1B option for me in the first and probably the more likely pick because I don't know if the Jets will pick high enough in the first to get Mariota. Jack Straw
Winston would be better served to stay in school for another year. He's taken a major step back both on and off the field this past year.

Jetdawgg
SEA is a very difficult team to beat right now. They are healthy. They are well coached. That was a big match up last week and they exposed the SF offense. They lack speed on the outside. That allowed them to contain Kap. This week SEA will face a very tough Philly team. People are talking about the Eagle O and it is very difficult to face, but that D is coming up fast. Remember this Eagle D is on the field quite a bit. The really held Dallas well last week. Sanchez has big game experience as does Wilson. One of the major games to watch and enjoy this weekend.

#27TheDominator
This is the dude with the camp reports? Cool. Welcome. Those are literally the only reason I even lurked there in the last 3 years or so. Hoyer is a JAG, but like Marqise Lee JAG is better than what we've got. IPBanBadPosters
No Winston under any circumstances, period. I can't emphasize that point enough. He would be the type of pick that sets the franchise back years. Mariota should be the target, and if he's off the board then either Peat or Cooper would be a nice consolation prize. mphtrilogy_8577
happy to see I found the right place with KRL. I fear #2 might not even be enough to get Mariota. We need to lose them all. That TB loss hurt..

IPBanBadPosters
I have been thinking the same thing. But his skills are rare, especially with that build. Why can't a team just draft this guy and put him in the shelf? Why is that not possible in football anymore? A year or two learning the NFL and growing up a little as well. He could seriously have a chance. Too bad that won't haplen. What "skills" are you people talking about? The "skill" to throw 4 picks in one half of a football game? Winston is complete garbage and is an absolute LOCK to bust in the pros. You don't flush a top-5 pick down the toilet and set the team back several years for someone like that - it's utter lunacy.
