In a move that will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody, the Jets have waived wide receiver/return man Kalif Raymond.  In two games, Raymond has mishandled three punts, one of which took away the Jets momentum in a comeback attempt last week versus the Oakland Raiders.

Pelon, who had two tackles in the team’s season opening loss, will take up one of the team’s ten practice squad slots.

In a lost season, I was actually hoping they'd work with Raymond a little bit.  He had some flubs, but the dude is explosive.  Could turn out to be a good one.

I'd like to see JoJo Natson get the call now, but it'll probably be Marcus Murphy.

WTF? Making an escape goat out of him. So ******* Jetsy. How about we release an actual player to send a message? ******* Jets releasing a guy who helped them on their way to the first overall pick. How about we release Mo to send a message? Not like he's helping in any way whatsoever. Trade him to the Browns for a 7th rounder and eat 90% of his salary. Still a major gain. Mother ******* Mac! The man has no ******* guts or sense. Idiot.

Raymond was waived for making the Tanking mission a little too obvious.

He never should have been on the team.

Kerley is a perfect PR.  They need someone to catch the ball and prevent it from rolling backwards.  My guess is that many teams, including the Jets would be better off on average  fair catching the ball all the time than trying to return and possibly fumbling.

Two days after waiving PR Kalif Raymond, whose muffed punt loomed large in the loss to the Raiders, the Jets have re-signed him to the practice squad. This is a curious turn of events. So much for sending a message. Maybe coach Todd Bowles doesn't like his replacement options on the current roster, Jeremy Kerley and Elijah McGuire.

The Jets added WR-KR Kalif Raymond to the practice squad.

Raymond spent the first two weeks of the regular season on the team's active roster and served as their primary returner. The 5'9", 160-pounder averaged 28.3 yards per kick and 7.6 yards per punt returns, respectively. A 2016 undrafted free agent out of Holy Cross, Raymond appeared in four games for the Broncos last season and returned 17 kicks.

He’s got some tools to develop,” coach Todd Bowles said. “There are some things we like about him with his speed and catch radius as a receiver, so he’s worth bringing back.”

“He’s one of my favorite kids in the building,” special teams coordinator Brant Boyer said. “Works his tail off.”
