The night we win the Super Bowl there will be people here complaining about something. Book it.

Until we start putting together 2 to 3 great drafts we’re not sniffing one.  And yes I’m hopeful this last one was the first one.

I’m seeing different stats but different sites count differently so I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt.

All sites have the same stats with the same advanced statistics too.

And I don't post fake stats because that's bad business.

These stats posted reflect his previous two seasons combined (Buffalo/Miami) but let me guess, you're going to thumbs down vote this post just like you've done to my posts for two weeks straight now ?

Only the bad posts.

If you are expecting Shaq to be a good pass rusher, you will be very disappointed. Most of his sacks were coverage sacks.

What about pressures though? Does he get good pressure even if he doesn’t get the sack?

Respectfully I disagree.
It’s about Zach. If He hits, you need a couple more impact players and you can win a super bowl.
if Moore is who we think he can be and ZW becomes a top 5 QB - and JD is just competent everywhere else they will be perennial contenders.
if ZW busts and we we put together 2 to 3 drafts we’ll still suck.

This D which will be run over won’t get you a playoff win.  I like Zach but against good teams he’s not going to get the ball enough.  Teams will eat the clock and score on a D built with hybrid players.

This trade is an amazing value. He is a decent starter being paid vet minimum.

He is best against the run. Ideally he is a 2 down player.

He struggles pass rushing. Most of his sacks are coverage sacks or effort sacks.

That being said, he is not a low risk, high reward player. He is a low risk, medium reward player.

It's also troubling that he is on his 4th team in 3 years. He also had trouble getting snaps in Buffalo.

Shaq Lawson is not the type of guy who will make you scary. Shaq is a good compliment for a pass rusher who struggles vs the run.

If he was really a good pass rusher, Buffalo wouldn't have let him go, Miami wouldn't have traded him after a year, and he didn't even make it to week 1 on the Texans.

The only "fool" is the one who defends Sam Darnold but yet trashes every player on the Jets.

Shaq Lawson: previous 2 years.

1,055 Defensive Snaps.

17 tackles for loss.

10.5 Sacks.

18 QB Hurries.

24 QB Knockdowns.

36 QB hits.

53 QB pressures.

141.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

vs.

Brandon Copeland (2 years as a Jet).

948 defensive snaps.

13 tackles for loss.

6.5 sacks (7 career).

14 QB hurries.

8 QB Knockdowns.

17 QB hits.

29 QB pressures.

74.5 Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

And only a FOOL would comparing Shaq Lawson to "Brandon Copeland".

Joe Douglas is no "fool".

This is incorrect.

based on this site, in the past two year Lawson has contributed to 104.5 pressures.  He’s not a bad player, he’s just closer to Tarrell Basham than he is to Carl Lawson.

*edit: I did this wrong too. The number is much lower than the math I did.

104.5 pressures?

You do know how to count, right?

28 + 25 = 53 pressures (exactly what I posted).

Incorrect? ?

Sorry, I used pressures to mean combined knockdowns, pressures, sacks.

You claimed 141.5 in the last two years.

Sorry. I counted wrong by 1 and should've used a calculator.

18 QB Hurries.

23 QB Knockdowns.

10.5 QB sacks.

53 QB pressures.

36 QB hits.

=

140.5 QB Hurries/Knockdowns/sacks/hits/pressures.

You set out on a mission and proved me wrong by 1.

Happy now?

I was incorrect by 1. You were incorrect by 36 ("104.5").

In the last 2 years, he has 104.5 total pressures, sack, qb hits . Not bad but definitely not a game changer or anything more than a second starter at best.

If you can put up points consistently it’s just about pass rush on defense in today’s NFL. There’s a reason Saleh doesn’t seem to care who is CB’s are.

I don't doubt JD has his eye on the waiver cut downs, and wants to preserve that #2 position for someone he's unable to trade cheaply for. Teams are hoping to sneak (usually) younger cheaper talent on their PS, so dealing a 6th for someone experienced and cheap, while being able to pick up other talent to stash later on his own PS is a better bet.

Also, Lawson would not have had to go through the waiver process.  He is a vested veteran, if released, he would immediately have become a Free Agent.  Our #2 waiver priority would not have made a difference.

Best on that site his AV was awful.  None impact player.  You conveniently left that off.  If you’re going to the stat bible at least quote the relevant verses.
