Don't you realize you make a fool out of yourself when you refer to Shaq Lawson as a beast.

He's a jag pass rusher.

Not much better than what we had in Brandon Copeland.

The only "fool" is the one who defends Sam Darnold but yet trashes every player on the Jets.

Shaq Lawson: previous 2 years.

1,055 Defensive Snaps.

17 tackles for loss.

10.5 Sacks.

18 QB Hurries.

24 QB Knockdowns.

36 QB hits.

53 QB pressures.

141.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

vs.

Brandon Copeland (2 years as a Jet).

948 defensive snaps.

13 tackles for loss.

6.5 sacks (7 career).

14 QB hurries.

8 QB Knockdowns.

17 QB hits.

29 QB pressures.

74.5 Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

And only a FOOL would comparing Shaq Lawson to "Brandon Copeland".

Joe Douglas is no "fool".

Lol, I have him on ignore

Unfortunately, this board's ignore sucks and their posts still show up. They're just condensed to 1 line which does indeed remove 2747272171898382 lines from DWC's posts, but that still leaves them taking up a lot of space.

Not good enough for the Bills, Fins or Houston so he's perfect for the Jets...

Ya'll remember the last Miami castoff we brought in? We better check Shaq's eyes at his introduction.

It's August 29 2 weeks away from the start of the regular season no team is trading top 10 NFL edge rusher.

Hopefully Robert Saleh can bring out the best in him.

DAMN I was going to go yesterday and see if he had them in stock.

So it looks like I'm going next Saturday.

Did he have XXL in stock.

Just saw your edit, he did have a few XXLs.

I'm not getting the whining that hes not a top flight pass rusher.

Because there are so many of those we could have landed

To me the crux of this move is simple. The Jets lost Lawson to injury and have been keeping their eye out for a Pass Rusher. Shaq Lawson was probably going to get cut anyway but JD was a bit desperate and made what I think was a smart move to snag him for a 6th before he hit FA/Waiver Wire. Its really not much more than that. Shaq Lawson is a quality waiver wire signing. But for a team that lost their starting edge rusher, he's a quality pickup for a 6th, no more, no less.

I don't doubt JD has his eye on the waiver cut downs, and wants to preserve that #2 position for someone he's unable to trade cheaply for. Teams are hoping to sneak (usually) younger cheaper talent on their PS, so dealing a 6th for someone experienced and cheap, while being able to pick up other talent to stash later on his own PS is a better bet.

He’s a high energy Jet fan. I enjoy his posts. If they could be shortened I would appreciate it. These boards should be like Twitter. Short and to the point.

I enjoy the optimism he brings rather than many of the downer Jets fans who only think the worst of our team. You go @Defense Wins Championships

I'm probably not as against it as I made it sound there. I don't think he really does anything and would have preferred looking at a younger player who might develop in what is likely a lost year focused on development given that teams rarely trade a top 30 pass rusher period let alone, as you say, 2 weeks before the season.

He's only on the books for 1 year and gives them some depth. He's just not someone who is going to be any more than he is where I think some decent developmental projects could be released from other teams who are deep at that position.

Only a not so bright fan looks at "sacks" as a way of describing a pass rushers ability.

Because this man has just as many sacks as Carl Lawson over the past two years (10.5).

Shaq Lawson of 2019 Buffalo Bills:

15 games.

6.5 sacks.

9 QB Knockdowns.

12 QB Hurries.

13 tackles for loss.

18 QB Hits.

28 QB pressures.

And he was a major part to a 2019 Buffalo Defense that ranked...

▪︎ 2nd in points allowed.

▪︎ 3rd in yards allowed.

This man is going to BEAST under coach Saleh and alongside of QUINNEN WILLIAMS.

Buffalo fans wouldn't waste their time going out of their way in order to post on JN if they didn't know we received a steal.

I bet they've already created a thread about him too.

17 Tackles for loss.

18 QB Hurries.

24 QB Knockdowns.

36 QB hits.

53 QB pressures.

141.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

Vs.

Carl Lawson

10.5 QB Sacks.

10 Tackles for loss.

15 QB hurries.

41 QB Knockdowns.

PFF's ranking system is comple trash.

JD just got ourselves an exciting pass rushers who's much better against the run than Carl too.

LOL.

You can get excited about literally any player we get.

Why did Buffalo, Miami, and Houston all get rid of him within a 3 year span?

He was a rotational lineman who started about 20 percent of the games.  He was a bit player who under achieved his draft status and is now on team 4 in 2 years.  He’s best trait is his in a contract year.  If he doesn’t put in a huge effort his going to be on a 5th team fast.

Most sixth rounders would be considered a contributor if they make the 53. Lawson will be more than that. Great value!!!

That’s one perspective. Here is the perspective from Houston fans:

”We just got a 6th for a guy we were gonna cut!!”
