83Kelly2Allen18
Are there other examples of QBs 40 or older that at least got to the Superbowl? I think the 98 broncos won and Elway was 38. Staubach got to the division rd at age 38 I think Montana 37 in 93 AFC championship

Popular Post nycdan
I'll help you out with two more examples. Kurt Warner got to the SB when he was 38 Favre got to the NFCCG at 40 Also, Warren Moon and Phillip Rivers passed for over 4k yards at age 39. There's enough out there to suggest that age 40 is not a certain problem. It's just going to come down to the specific guy in the specific situation.

Gannon and Kurt Warner were both 37.

Though he sucked individually by then, Peyton Manning won a SB at age 39. The year before he QB'd a 30 ppg Broncos offense, and it was all after a number of neck surgeries. Regardless, it's of course uncommon. It's uncommon to be in the league at all at that age.

MR.GANGGREEN28
"Besides the 20 bucs or 18 pats with Brady..." Why exclude Brady as an example? It's not like we're going into the season with Joe Flacco as our starter. This is Aaron Rodgers, a top 10, maybe top 5 QB of all time. Brady is the closest parallel, especially when you consider how good our roster looks right now.
playtowinthegame
Falcons went to the Super Bowl with Chris Chandler, who was 33 during their run in 1998, and 33 in 1998 was like being in your mid 40's in 2024.

Larz
This is as puzzling as the “you can’t draft a QB, LT, RB , TE, CB, DE, S or DT in the first round because of the guys they drafted in the past that didn’t work out“ posts. It’s not connected. Just let this team be this team.
