Popular Post Yucatan Jetfan
This is all on Woody. Pushed Rodgers on JD, panics and fires the coach on a whim. Sell the team and stop holding us Jet fans hostage. I would have bet the house that the Jets were at least going to the playoffs. It's ruining my love of football. Been watching the Jets over 60 years and want to see Jets in the playoffs one more time. Sell the team and do what you do best, make feminine hygiene products. Popular Post Flea Flicking Frank
Motives are literally everything…. if you’re an owner and winning is by far the most important motive, you hire the best coach you possibly can. if you’re an owner who wants to win; but it’s more important to be a part of the fun, you hire coaches who let you in on the sausage making. good coaches don’t allow this, so we get stuck with awful coaches like Saleh, who let woody play. motives drive all

Popular Post ChuckkieB
The fish rots from the head. Ever since Woody took over, the Jets have been stuck on a carosel of 4 year (give or take) cycles of D level GM's and D level coaches who all make D level decisons and keep the Jets mired in medicrity or worse. Even with a really good roster, they can't play beyond the horrific organizational stench that seems to have permantley shrouded them in embarrassing failure. No self respecting legitimate GM or HC wants to work for Woody and that should tell us all we need to know. This team will never be anything but a bottom of the barrell joke of a franchise until he sells the team to someone who actually gives a crap. 5

Rangers9
Look Woody got involved recently took charge and made changes. And all of it hasn't worked. Maybe this extreme embarrassment could motivate him to sell the team. He can get a load of cash for it.

I’m pretty sure someone posted something last week that showed the Jets had the exact same win % under Hess that they’ve had under Johnson, so this has been going on a lot longer than when Woody bought the team.
Maxman
Woody left the team for years for a job in another country that involves black tie events and ballroom dancing. He doesn't care about winning and losing. He handed operations over to his brother who might be worse than he is football wise. If he cared he would stay out of the mix and let football people do football things. Leon Hess called and said he wants his buck back. 1

Green Ghost
There’s nothing lamer than fans imploring a NFL owner to sell their team. If you owned one, would you? Not to mention the fact that with the League now allowing them to sell a minority % to private equity firms and get a cash windfall while still maintaining control? The only way you’ll see someone sell is if the League forces them to (Snyder/Commanders) or they have an issue with their estate.

His problem is he’s like 99% of us on this board. He thinks because he’s a fan, he knows how to fix the team’s roster. 3

He doesn't care. The Jets are a trophy purchase to him that he can chuckle about at the yacht club. He doesn't care about winning. He cares about printing money, and as long as us long suffering suckers continue to buy tickets and merch, that smug POS will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Hess wasn’t the kind, benevolent King you remember him being, and Parcells was a carpetbagger who fell in to Hess’ lap, then moved on to his next destination very quickly. I’m not here to defend Woody, his hires haven’t worked out other than Rex, who was his more successful version of Parcells (with two AFCCG years in a row). Finally, if Woody didn’t care about winning, why did he fire Saleh, and bring in Adams and Reddick within the past 10 days? His “plans” might not work, but you sound silly claiming he doesn’t care. Quite frankly, i don't give a **** about Hess. This isn't a "who's a sh*ttier owner!" contest. Woody owns the team NOW, and the current owner of the Jets is a joke. And don't fool yourself, Woody only makes moves when there is a public outcry to make an obvious and long overdue move and he's shamed into doing it. It's been the case since he got here. He cares about two things. Money and being embarrassed. He is a terrible owner. End of story. 1

At the end of the day it’s his team. It’s your job as a fan to contribute your hard earned cash to him to root for his team.

Lot K Tailgaters
He needs to find a GM to hire his own coach and stay out of things. He is unable to do that. Douglas made some good moves and also some bad ones. Changing a HC and OC after 5 weeks was the signal that the season was over. It’s almost impossible to make adjustments like this during the season.

He is in such a state of denial that he’s doing anything wrong. So he’ll hire another group of morons after this.
