Thanks.  I needed that one.  Been a rough year of Football.

I havent seen the Gators dominate the LOS like that in a long time.  It was impressive.  They better be able to do it again if they want to win some more games because Harris cant throw the ball.  Not sure what they see in him.  He has no arm, like, at all and Will Grier can sling it.  Very weird situation to be honest but who knows.  Its not like we've got the brightest offensive minds in Gatorland.

With how the ground-game was working, I understand not putting the ball in the air, but you'd hope Muschamp goes to Grier eventually.

You see my boy Jeremy Hill finally getting a full workload? I know it was against Jacksonville, but I wish he landed in a spot where he'd be able to carry the load instead of sharing time with Gio.

Problem: GM appears unfit to run football organization

Solution: hire GM who deliberately planted a Snickers wrapper in a stairwell and then screamed at staff when no one picked it up

LOL if this is true.

How about Ron Wolf's kid?

No clue why he'd want to be any part of this sh*tshow, but he certainly has the pedigree...

I was wrong--he didn't put it there. The rest is true though.

During his first year, Pioli noticed a candy wrapper in a back stairwell and waited to see how long it took to be picked up. About a week passed, and it remained in the stairwell. He placed the wrapper in an envelope, and during a meeting of department heads, Donovan, then the team's chief operating officer, brandished the wrapper as evidence of the attention to detail that Chiefs employees had grown to ignore.

So this personnel evaluation talent is hereditary now? Comical. Take Rodgers off the Packers and they are a six win team at best.

We couldn't do any worse than we are right now if we made our picks by throwing darts at a list of draft eligible players.

We need a complete reboot, and I think the son of a legendary GM, who happens to be a personnel director for one of the best run franchises in the sport, is a good place to start looking.

. Overall I feel like his worst moves were in his coaching hires.

totally agree, unfortunately hiring a HC and finding a QB are the 2 most important jobs for the GM.    Pioli failed at both and was fired.

did he learn from his mistakes or would his second tour feature more lousy HC's and totally ignoring the QB position?

That's a huge question. I think you interview him to find out. But is Woody capable?

 Nope

Heard it on NFL radio. I had totally forgot about Pioli, but it makes sense the more that I think about it. Parcells has a hold on NYC and especially Woody and the Jets. He was still around mentoring Rex just a few seasons ago. Belichick wouldn't be happy but Pioli is out of work.

Rubbish.

The Falcons suck ass, largely as a result of Dimitroffs lousy drafting and restocking. We have that already.

i mean, Matt Ryan, Lofton, Harry Douglas, DeCoud, Bierman, William Moore, Weatherspoon, Julio, Konz, Trufant, Alford, Toilolo, Matthews, Hageman, Freeman, Shembo and a ton of some good FA moves seems to have better impact then any of idzik's moves.

Woody Johnson doesn't know who Percy Harvin is.

For the record, I don't think Woody encouraged Idzik not to spend, and I don't think he suggested any trades. That's all on the guy who's under assessment.

Even if he did it's as informed as anything Mehta writes or you could find on ESPN.

Woody shouldn't be allowed to "assess" anything more complicated than his choice of luncheon meat. Our owner, ladies and gentlemen, is a Goddamn moron. And it's how we got here.

..... Well, its not as bad as Leon Hess choosing Dick Kotite as coach.  Still, a GM has got to choose his own coach.  The scouting dept. under Bradway has not been good.  Give us some hope, Woody.... Clean House.!

......

"Vick’s final line on the day was 21/28 for 196 yards, one touchdown, and a quarterback rating of 105.7. He had no interceptions and one fumble, which was recovered by New York. Simms was 3/8 for 39 yards with no touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 53.6.

Percy Harvin, whose arrival a few weeks ago caused much speculation about everything from how he’d fit into the Jets’ offense to how he’d fit in the locker room, had a very good game for the Jets, with 11 receptions for 129 yards, along with 88 yards returning kicks. "

Parcells' seal of approval carries a lot of weight with Woody.  If they're really talking and Bill recommends Pioli, then there's a good chance he will be the guy.

A lot of the talent in KC are guys Pioli brought in. He took a chance on Matt Cassell. In hindsight it was the wrong move.  But at the time, considering the year Cassell had filling in for Brady in '08, most people thought it was a good move.  I can't bash him for that.

His head coaching hires are the only thing that scare me.  Crennel had already proven to be a failure, and Haley was a complete disaster.
