Decker Getting an MRI tomorrow

Decker said he doesn’t think the injury will require surgery. “I’m going to be smart about it,” he said after the game. “I’m not going to rush myself back.”

I am good with that. With Marshall out there and guys like Kerley/Devin able to step we should be in OK shape. Considering all the serious injuries we've seen, If Decker is out 1 or 2 weeks, I can live with that.

INDIANAPOLIS -- New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker will have an MRI Tuesday on his injured left knee, but he's hopeful it won't be a season-ending injury.

"They don't think it's surgical, so I don't think it's too serious," Decker said after the Jets' 20-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Decker said the early indication is that it "might be" a PCL sprain, based on a battery of postgame tests. He said his knee "held up fine" during the tests, but doctors want an MRI for confirmation.

Even if it doesn't require surgery, Decker likely will miss time.

"I'm going to be smart about it this time," said Decker, who played through a serious hamstring injury last season. "I'm not going to rush myself. Obviously, I want to be out there as soon as possible, but we're going to take the proper steps."

The timing is lousy, as Decker is coming off a huge game. He caught eight passes for 97 yards and a touchdown, all in the first half -- the most prolific first half of his career.

He left in the fourth quarter after a Colts defender landed on him following a long incompletion.

"I landed goofy," he said.

Decker and Brandon Marshall have formed a solid tandem in the Jets' two wins, combining for four touchdowns. If Decker is out, he'd likely be replaced by Chris Owusu or Quincy Enunwa.
