The numbers do not lie.  But judge for yourself (Gase years in Red).

By the way, can you just imagine what the Jets Fanbase would say about Sam Darnold if HE had a season with a 66% rate, 4,000+ passing yards and a ~27 to ~12 TD to INT ratio?

Tannehill is playing better without the pressure of a franchise who hasnt had a qb since marino.  No expectations is a nice way to play.

Once he gets a contract as a starting qb, he will tighten up and not play as well.

Its fitzpatrick syndrome.

Fitzpatrick played like sh*t in 2016, but he sure didn't look tight.

It depends. Tannehill put up a lot of empty stats in Miami. I always looked at him as somewhat of a check down artist

I was lectured on the well established fact that Tannehill was never good and never was talented and Gase was a victim, being saddled with having to play and coach this stiff. That it was all a mirage that Tannehill's numbers dropped as soon as Gase became his coach.

He's finally healthy and is on a good team

That team couldn't score points for dick until Tannehill took over. Mariota had a pair of 3-TD games against Cleveland and Atlanta. A combined zero against everyone else. Neither QB did anything vs Denver (Mariota started / Tannehill mopped up), but since then they put up points every week. They're winning games despite the Titans defense being noticeably worse and giving up way more points now.

Seriously, though, I don't know. I just think it's great that Miami lets him go and he looks like a weapon again. Cherry on top is Gase not looking train wrecky for a few weeks in a row now.

Without tannehill starting:

Derrick Henry(6 games): 113 carries, 416 yds, 3.7 YPC

With Tannehill starting:

Derrick Henry(5 games): 93 carries, 575 yds, 6.2 YPC

But yeah it's all the greatness of RyanTannehill who has only had a record above .500 in one season which was coached by Adam Gase

Tannehill isn't terrible but he is not consistently good. He has had hot flashes before shame he can't put it all togeather

He's a poor man's Eli.  He puts up numbers better than what he actually looks like but unlike young Eli Ryan struggles in big moments and big games.

I wish Miami extended him rather than releasing him.  Tennessee is having success with him right now, they won't long term.  He's always been a tease.

He gets injured that is true. But he is better than people give him credit for.

I’m not a gase supporter, and I also think Tannehill is average.  But, sometimes player and scheme just don’t fit.  And, sometimes two people just don’t work as well together, as they do apart.  It doesn’t have to be one persons fault or the other.

I’m pretty sure Gase and Tannehill were like 10-1 in their last 11 games where Gase coached and Tannehill started.

I disagree with you, I watched him a lot in Miami.  He would put up decent numbers but never really play up to those numbers.  Miami had some decent teams around him most of his time there and he could never get them over the hump.  I'm not sure Miami makes it in '16 if he doesn't get hurt. Remember needing just 1 win in the last 2 weeks of '13?  He led his O to 7 total points in 2 games against 2 dead teams.

Disagreement is fine :)
