Maybe in his own mind and those with a man crush on him. You aren't doing someone 'dirty' by not caving to them as negotiations are a two way street and Jamal had been bad mouthing the organization publicly, plus he chose to play safety (he should have done some career research in high school). Jamal did himself dirty unless he intended on pushing his way out, and in that case anyone who thinks the Jets did him wrong is a useful idiot as Stalin would say. He lacks the high end athleticism to play any other position. It was either SS or weak side LB for Jamal. DNA keeps Jamal from being a truly high level impactful player, not his lack of research.

All the elite players from that draft class are getting paid. Mahomes, Watson, Mccaffery, Kittle, Garrett, and White all got record breaking deals. If what he said was true about Douglas cutting off communications, he has the right to be angry. All the other teams at least tried to work out a deal with their elite players. It's not like the Jets are cap strapped or need to sign upcoming players. Now the compensation for Adams was nice but it looks like the Jets also did him dirty in contract negotiations. Last I checked, JA signed a contract. It is this mentality which has empowered the players to the point of madness. I say good riddance and let him be a cancer elsewhere.

He should be taking up his issue with the NFLPA who agreed to the current rookie wage scale over the past 2 CBA agreements.

He acted like a spoiled child who asked a soon discredited writer to go after his own coach. If anyone... it was Jamal that did the Jets dirty. They asked him to wait until they knew what their projected future cap ramifications would be. In a pandemic that has ******* up league operations on a level never before seen. They personally told him they would pay him. He didn't want invest in that future because he didn't believe in the team. So he got to leave. He was never the Pres. He was never a leader. He is a schmuck. And I am glad he is gone. Plus judging by the player comments they the locker room seems to be glad he's gone
jetstream23
Quote The way Jamal went about it was wrong, but he did have a valid argument with his draft-mates getting paid now. Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw Deshaun Watson driving around a parking lot the other day yelling out his window that he's trying to get traded to the Panthers. 1

Biggs
Adams had every right to want to get paid. He has every right to be upset that he didn't get paid. The Jets had every right to demand he show up and play under the contract he agreed to. The system of drafting and slotting is unfair. It overpays some players and underpays others. In this case Adams was grossly underpaid. The Jets worked out a deal that works well for both Adams and the NY Jets. Yes Adams can be upset that he didn't get paid. That still doesn't justify knocking the NY Jets for not paying Adams. The Jets accommodated Adams and did what they felt was best for the NY Jets organization. A win/win. PS: Adams instead of quietly working out the same result was a complete jackass.
rangerous
overpaying for a position is no way to run a team. there's no denying adams is a very good player but he's not really playing a high skill position like mahommes or wason or mccaffery play. at best he should get close to being the highest paid safety. F Jamal Adams. He never brought us anywhere, he’s not here any more, and not only is he never coming back but Mehta just lost his top unnamed locker room source to sh*te all over the coaching staff. ageingjetfan
kind of makes you wonder why this great player who is such a nice guy hasn't been extended by Seattle? JA made a lot of public noise, no organization appreciates noise.
mrcoops
Let him take this issue up with his employer. If the end result is whining, discord and the team being torn apart, moving them way up the draft order...I'd be OK with it.
BurnleyJet
I’m think it’s great, he forced the trade, now he’s got to play good solider in Seattle for a year. The Seahawks are also not obligated to pay him either. I expect the screaming to start next off season, I also expect the NFL cap to be slashed. Which of course should tell the remaining Jamalbros around here that he really was shooting his way out of town. And that started all the way back with his trade deadline antics.
