The rbs behind breece have been terrible, and they took 2 big guys who are going to grind for yards and not dance like izzy and carter did. It’s not as if we didn’t take a wr on day 2. And they’re going to sign FAs who inevitably flash and compete for roster spots or PS spots

I think he has potential and between Pratt and Travis one could be QB3 and other PS for this year and then we have 2 young QBs on the roster moving forward. Keep throwing darts at the most important position in all sports.

Better to admit defeat than double down on your failure and lose games when Izzy is forced to play.
Sarge4Tide
There are a lot of very decent prospects on the board right now - at just about every position grouop
T0mShane
7 minutes ago, kdels62 said: That’s for sure valid in terms of finding the players but would you be comfortable with a 5th round rookie at IOL4 regardless of RAS score? Yes? The team goes to camp with 12-14 linemen and winnow that down to 8-10. You’d draft a fifth round guard to beat out unplayable dudes like Max Mitchell and/or make in unnecessary to sign vets that suck like Connor McGovern., etc. The bar is low, and the potential ROI is huge. Contrast that with the Travis pick, where you’re getting absolutely nothing in the short term and *likely* nothing long term. The OL has to be one of eight to be a good draft pick. Travis probably starts the season on the practice squad. Run the exercise again with at least one of the two backs. What is Douglas doing here? Maybe it’s not an OL. They need another DL to replace JFM. Receiver? The Dolphins drafted Malik Washington who probably starts in the slot for them right away. Is that not a better investment?

Again, if the guy is a decent backup qb that’s better use than taking a marginal wr who will struggle to beat out the priority FAs they sign 24 matters because it implies the dude was in college forever and are as good as they’re gonna get because they took a million snaps between games and practice.

Your argument is that they took a dart throw on Travis in the .000000045% chance he’s Brock Purdy. My chief complaint is that they don’t have the time nor resources to **** around like that. Douglas already used his yolo QB shot on James Morgan.

My argument is that the jets have failed to not only hit on the qbs they’ve drafted early in the draft, but on developing reliable backups in the later rounds. They keep importing qbs here b/c they can’t draft them. Mccown, fitz, rodgers, taylor, they have to keep importing them. Look at cincy - when burrow went down they had a guy they had drafted who came in and gave them legit qb play. The jets had a flash of that with white but of course they didn’t keep him b/c anyone was better than wilson. We all sit around here wasting our lives on this board complaining the jets can’t draft qbs, and don’t take enough shots to develop them. Who is to say that injuries will not occur this year that allows travis to play meaningful snaps?

Beerfish
35 minutes ago, Augustiniak said: So the chief complaint is that they should have taken a mediocre guard or another slot wr instead of a mediocre rb? yes, becasue this is a DEEP draft for WR and Guards ans RBs are a dime a dozen, we could get an udfa rb who will be decent. Many really good prospect Guards and WRs have floated off the board while douglas was playing madden. Smart teams draft to the strength of a draft, dumb teams do not and Douglas keeps making the same mistakes. Mims is awesome no need for another WR! oh wait he isn;t Elijah moore had just as much excitement behind him as corley this draft and he promptly does not draft another wr Teams find guys like amon ra st brown, diggs and puka nakua as not only good players but stars becasue they actually draft them. Douglas drafts one guy and says 'were good!' when the rest of the draft is loaded with high potential guys at wr. Douglas's track record totally backs up his utter failure in the end part of the draft where reasl skill comes into place. Douglas gets huge credit from people for trying to correct awful botch picks and moves he made like a year ago. He is not a good gm.
