JetNation
For a change of pace, JetNation decided the best way to recap this game would be to post the reactions of Jets fans on Twitter. These are (some of) the clean tweets. #Jets haven't covered Vereen since he was drafted — Paul Bruzzese (@Paulie_Bruz) October 17, 2014 it was incomplete, but can we give brady a few more weeks to throw?? #Jets — The Jet Press (@TheJetPress) October 17, 2014 Yes! Revis got burned once and now he gets called for holding. #TrashIsland — Henry™ (@NYJ_Henry) October 17, 2014 Geno Smith's 20 step drops are a lot more delightful when they're followed by a 20 yard run. #Jets — B. Spiegel (@knicks148) October 17, 2014 Worst screen team in the NFL #Jets — Drew (@DrewfromJersey) October 17, 2014 Predicable Kyle Wilson celebration for doing a pedestrian thing — (Pat) (@PLO1021) October 17, 2014 Good news: #Jets doing excellent job getting ball to their best weapon. Bad news: That weapon is Nick Folk. — Jim Brady (@jimbradysp) October 17, 2014 I think I'd rather get hit by a car than Chris Ivory. @ivory33 #nyj — OneJetAtATime.com (@OneJetAtATime) October 5, 2014 GO STRAIGHT GENO — 贾斯汀 (@_keator) October 17, 2014 Tom Brady just flopped on the floor like a little girl. Need a gif….now! — R0n Plckett (@R0nPlckettNFL) October 17, 2014 Tom Brady has lady parts. — Erika Esola (@emesola) October 17, 2014 That was a nice play by Decker. Had Revis going the wrong way #Jets — nyjetscap (@nyjetscap) October 17, 2014 Guys, you know the #Jets are going to rip our hearts out tonight right?? #hopeimwrong — Jim (@Jthrush84) October 17, 2014 Again with a LB on Edelman???!!!! WTF!!!!! — Jim (@Jthrush84) October 17, 2014 Oh I didn't know we were blaming Geno for that 15 yard sack. Are we? Not reading the blitz doesn't excuse the comical pass blocking. — Sean Lester Durham (@SeanLDurham) October 17, 2014 Let's hope Vick is ready. I mean prepared. #Jets — Jeff Capellini (@GreenLanternJet) October 17, 2014 Robert Kraft high-fiving other old rich turds in a luxury suite on a Patriots TD is why the terrorists hate us. — Ryan Daniels (@RTDaniels) October 17, 2014 San Diego tank job aside, #Jets beaten by teams decidedly better on paper but in a battle every time. — Jeff Capellini (@GreenLanternJet) October 17, 2014 I'm sure the D will hold here…. *cries* — Mike Donnelly (@TheMikeDonnelly) October 17, 2014 Damn – Sure would be great to have more than one timeout here, right? #Coaching — Joe Caporoso (@TurnOnTheJets) October 17, 2014 Amendola rhymes with Ebola. — Chris Gross (@CGROSS97) October 17, 2014 But I did love Phil Simms praising a drive that left their kicker with a 58-yard (!!!) field goal. OMG, best drive ever. Time capsule time. — Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) October 17, 2014 Another week, another game Rex and Marty blew. — Tom (@Tomlikesmtndw) October 17, 2014 Tonight is an example of why I want to see Geno w/ better personnel around him. The skillset is there….played well tonight — Damien Woody (@damienwoody) October 17, 2014 Zero turnovers kept us in the game. Geno played smarter. This is what we need. I hate losing but the kid showed me something tonight. #Jets — craigcayetano (@craigcayetano) October 17, 2014 This garbage Pats team is going to win the AFC East by default. RSJ
DRC has been bad and is already hurt, and Mornhinweg likely warned the Jets off of DJax. Yeah well then if they played like that here there would be no question Rex should be gone. These corners and receivers couldn't start for most college teams. Also MM is a career loser. Matt39
Exciting game to watch. The Pats arent very good either...but the timeouts were killer. Thought Geno fought hard...the Tecmo Bowl sacks need to stop. Aboushi played well.

Bleedin Green
it was NY 12 NE 17 a 2pt conversion makes the score NY 20 NE 17. Should NE add a FG its tie game NY 20 NE 20 which is exactly what happened. Instead it was NY 19 NE 20 So your logic is that the Jets should have gone for a conversion earlier because of something that might happen, instead of waiting until later when they actually knew what happened, because it didn't work later in the game. It's an argument based on nothing but pure hindsight. And keep in mind that this isn't a defense of Rex, because screw him, he deserves a lot of sh*t for how that game went, but rather it's a point about rather simple football logic. Everyone around here would be throwing a sh*t fit if the Jets went for a conversion early, failed, and were then down by 9 instead of 8 late in the game because of it, just as they should. You can play this game with why the Jets should have gone for it on any random 4th down or countless other "what ifs" based on things that happened later in the game, it doesn't make any of it right. The problem wasn't that the Jets weren't in a position to tie (or later win) the game, it's that they were and failed at that opportunity.

Told myself the whole time they were going to lose. Still was a heartbreaker. It's crazy. As much as I have always been able to rely on the Jets to find a way to lose, this season it is at its all time strongest. IPBanBadPosters
Curious if that was more on the coaches or front office Either way, it reveals organizational dysfunction. Either the coaching staff can't evaluate the talent on the roster, or the hierarchy is completely out of whack. I really hope Woody finds a moment of clarity and realizes this is a giant clusterf*ck that needs to be completely rebooted from scratch.
