There's been others... can't find and forgot. These are from the past hour, keep em coming.

Many are cap related.....   Some are still good players.

If he is that has to be the St. Louis Rams, he only has 650 tackles in 7 seasons.

Good point!

seems tricky to find legit tackle numbers online ... But you'd think Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood would have to be over that ... 14 seasons , 151&1/2 sacks

And for the hell of it.........

Alfred Morris - RB -  Redskins

ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini pegs free agent Alfred Morris as a potential fallback option for New York if it can't re-sign Chris Ivory.

Ivory is expected to try and command $4 million annually on the open market after staying mostly healthy with the Jets the past couple seasons. Morris is likely being viewed as a bargain-bin running back coming off a horrible year with the Redskins after coach Jay Gruden essentially kicked him to the side in favor of rookie Matt Jones. Despite his 5'10/224 size, Morris isn't a tough, rugged inside runner for a power offense. He fits best in a zone-blocking scheme.

Donald Brown could be a decent addition to the LB corps on the inside, no? Maybe Conner for STs?

http://www.chargers.com/news/2016/03/03/chargers-release-four-players-including-butler-brown

The San Diego Chargers parted ways with four players on Thursday, releasing LB Donald Butler, RB Donald Brown, LB Kavell Conner and LB Chi Chi Ariguzo.

Butler appeared in 71 games with 62 starts over six seasons in San Diego.  Originally a third round pick (79th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft and a team captain in 2013, he totaled 432 tackles, 33 tackles for loss and 7.0 sacks over his career.  He recorded 54 tackles with five tackles for loss in 16 games last year while making nine starts.

Brown spent two seasons with the Bolts after a five-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts.  He ran for 229 yards and one touchdown in 10 games last season after rushing for 223 yards in 2014.

Conner joined the Chargers in 2014 after four seasons with the Colts.  He appeared in all 16 games with seven starts his first year in San Diego, tallying 68 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and a career-high 16 special teams tackles.   Conner played in 10 games last year with three starts, notching 19 tackles and two tackles for loss.

Ariguzo signed as an undrafted free agent last season out of Northwestern. He spent all of 2015 on the Reserve-Injured list after being waived-injured after the preseason.

Did you see the dead money on cutting Butler? $18.69m! OUCH!!!

That is not correct.  There is a $12 Million dollar option that that includes.  He is due a cap hit of $9 Million and change, so this not only saves them a from writing a check for $12 Million, it should save them some cap hit.  IIRC.

I got that straight from NFL.com ...

The move creates $9.41 million in cap space for San Diego, but also saddles the Chargers with $18.69 million in dead money. Just two years after signing a lucrative seven-year, $51.8 million contract, Butler faded down the stretch in 2015.

You can't create space if you have more dead money than cap hit.  You can push it back with a Post June 1st designation, but they are not accounting for the option bonus.  IMO.

According to overthecap.com his dead money hit is $6.69m, so that would tie up with your numbers above. I guess NFL.com must have got it wrong.

Jaguars released DE Chris Clemons.

The move clears another $4 million in cap space for the Jaguars, who are now pushing $90 million. It's now or never for the Gus Bradley era in Jacksonville. Signed to a four-year, $17.5 million deal in 2014, Clemons tallied eight sacks in 2014 before registering just three last season. That will typically get a 34 year old due over $3 million released. The Jags' top offseason priority should be rebooting their pass rush.

Ravens declined DE Chris Canty's option.

It's not a surprise with Baltimore's cap situation. Canty is one of the top run-stopping ends in the league, but has durability concerns after spending the final seven games on I.R. The move creates $2.15M in cap room.

With all these DE cuts and DL value/talent in the 2016 draft, THERE will be no PREMIUM PAID in the market for Mo. Sucks for us and I hope he realizes he'll make more with the Jets by signing LongTerm.

I like ILB Donald Butler as a FA pick-up for a few years to bridge the gap between #52 Harris and whomever we draft to groom in this year's draft. Butler got tired of SD and I'm sure could thrive in a new environment under Bowles.
