Ryan Fitzpatrick is looking to build on a 2015 season that saw him throw a team-record 31 touchdowns.

By Glenn Naughton

It’s only two games, but handing Ryan Fitzpatrick a contract this past offseason that made him one of the three worst-paid veteran starters in the NFL is already looking like a bargain for Mike Maccagnan and the New York Jets.

Following a dominating performance against the Buffalo Bills that saw Fitzpatrick throw for 374 yards (a career-high for a regulation game), the signal caller was named the top offensive player in the AFC.

According to Randy Lange of the team’s official site, this is the third time Fitzpatrick has taken home the award in just 18 starts for Gang Green.

$12mil is not a bargain by any stretch of the imagination, sir.

It isn't if he was a janitor, programmer, etc. But, clearly in context of QB he is bottom 3 for veteran starters; so in context it is a bargain

Like the guy; don't like the guy; but it is comments like that which make it difficult to people seriously.

He was too busy shinning his 4 Super Bowl rings.

Tom Brady playoff games: 31 (most of all-time in the NFL)

Ryan Fitzloser playoff games: 0

Are you really serious with this stupid post?

Sounds like someone is upset their qb for caught cheating again.

You wish the Jets QB was caught cheating after 4 Super Bowl wins.

Hell, your starting QB has never played in a playoff game in 11 years.

Congrats on that totally meaningless weekly award!

Fitz: AFC O player of the Week for 3rd time in 18 games. Brady: suspended.

No award is ever meaningless unless you cheat to win it :)

Seriously, can't you go to your own website? Are you really this insecure?

A couple of fans are happy that the QB they were either rooting for (or was worried about) got an award. What is it to you?

And NO; for the record, I am not happy anytime a person I respect or a team I root for is caught cheating; Only fake fans and losers say things like 'if you aren't cheating you aren't trying hard enough'. If you had anyone in your life (which is doubtful), how would you feel if they cheated on you? Dumb****

What exactly is shinning?  Is that rubbing the rings on his shins?

After re-reading my post, I still agree with it, but it came off way more harsh than I meant it. Sorry.

Brady: 31 playoff games (no other player has played in more)

Fitzloser: 0 playoff games in 11 years and a .171 winning percentage against winning teams.

You really want to keep going?

Let's talk 2016. Brady: an embarrassment to the league. In terms of on the field: no contest your guy is better.

These are some gems:

Never seen a QB get blamed for a WR fumbling. Never change Cian Fahey.

You've never heard of a QB criticized for hanging his receivers out to dry? You want your QB to place the ball in the right spots so their guys don't get killed trying to stretch out and come down with the catch. Especially on short passes where the receiver doesn't even have a very good chance to get yards after the catch

If fitz would do a better job protecting his WR's and delivering the ball to them in better spots, maybe Marshall/decker/enunwa wouldn't be so banged up through 3 games

Yes the Gilmore facemask was clearly the quarterbacks fault.
