Because hack sucks and we know what McCown is. We don't want our franchise qb McCown getting hurt and we need to see petty with the 1s in case McCown gets hurt.  Not much drop off hopefully from McCown to petty.  We can rest McCown later in the year and save him for the playoffs.

We are watching Petty play right now. We've seen him play before.

What has he shown to make you think he needs more reps with the 1s than Hack does?

Another interesting challenge for the D.  Lions can score points, will be interested how the Defense looks while starters are in.  Same deal next week.

My knee jerk week 1 reaction was the Defense might be too good for this team to get the #1 pick.  We will see if that is real or not soon enough.

Bad offense always hurts the defense and makes it look worse than it is.

Petty needs to be the #2 guy if for nothing else, he has shown he can at least function at the position.  Right now Petty's floor seems to be Hack's ceiling.

As long as you ignore last weeks performances.  And the games Petty played last season.  And that this his 3rd camp vs Hacks 2nd.

Ahhh, the ever present it's not the QBs fault because he didn't have perfect talent at every position! It's just like poor Geno all over again.

Not perfect, NFL talent.  Geno has nothing to do with it.

Hack is a waste of a roster spot.  He's  been sheltered and coddled.  He's a nice kid but he's a mistake. He is horrible.  Geno was better and he sucked

Last week you started a thread talking about how he was all we could ask for and more.

This week he's a waste of a roster spot.

Means what for you?

Hack has yet to put together anything resembling Petty's game against the Redskins last season, or even his Atlanta game his rookie year.

OL and WR I agree with.  HC maybe, but not QB, I don't think Tom Brady could have done anything with that line.

We stink so bad in so many critical areas, you can't evaluate sh*t fairly.

Somebody said he was like Brett vfavtuh that one time

Hack made nice throws last week, petty made nice throws tonight

It's all just what you want to see, what story you want to tell

Same excuse Geno sycophants used. You couldn't really judge him because of the talent around him..

Just not getting that yes it's next to impossible to make a fair evaluation of a QB when the  OL is a sieve, the running game sucks and the WRs are incapable of making plays.

Thats not an excuse, its fact.  No matter who the QB is
