The Jets are 4-6, in last place in their division and in 10th place in the conference. They're not getting a high pick AND they're not going to the playoffs. Clearly tanking was a horrible idea <_<

Because all those young players would learn so much going 0-10. Tanking is the stupidest idea

They're going to lose their next 4 games. Will they still be in playoff contention at 4-10?

if we're lucky (I'd throw in smart as an alternative, but ..)  we will lose our next 6

lol.  Are you realling going with the "They need to learn to win!" argument?  So played out, and wrong.  Young teams have gone from bad to good quickly in this league.

Know what will help young players the most?  Drafting a franchise QB.  Young teams learn things very quickly with that.  How will drafting yet another defensive player with the 9th pick help a young team, exactly?

For some reason, Jets fans and media, who have been teased over and over and over again, still jump when something like this happens.

I never for one second bought into playoff talk. But the reaction from radio this morning is hilarious. They say the Jets loss meant a lot. Maybe a bit but not a lot.

Playoffs looks out of the question but I still don't get the Tank talk. What could have been done to tank the season?

Easy. Not sign McCown, go with either Petty or Hackenburg as your starter. Either you're awful or one of the QBs plays competently and you have some hope that you have a long term solution at QB. No one is complaining if this team is 4-6 with Hackenburg or Petty as QB1. What the Jets did is the worst case scenario, which is not at all unsurprising.

The Jets are just a horrible road team. They would be 0-5 if it wasn't for the Browns clown show. Their next 3 road games are in high altitude Denver where they may keep it close but lose, then they are going to get run over in New Orleans and New England. That's 9 losses right there so playoffs are over because it's going to take 9 wins to get in. I was hoping for an 8-8 season but they had to win yesterday's game and instead they laid an egg. They need to fix the damn Oline.

I think this is the Jets organizational mission statement.

Yes. Completely agree. They should not have signed McCown. But if you listen to Mac's interviews this past week, it sounds like they had no intention of tanking. I think Mac and Bowles both felt they needed to win to secure their jobs.

But at least we have Mccown!

And we can be happy for the Giant fans when they draft the QB we could've had!  I mean it's way more important they immediately replace their 2 time SB winning QB with another franchise QB, than it is for the Jets to get a QB they'd just ruin anyways.

You dont feel "they need to learn to win" argument is valid?

Why are the Giants getting credit. They have players  texting reporters the team is giving up. Media is showing examples of players quitting on plays. The whole franchise looks to be crumbling and now are the laughing stock of the NFL. Are they developing anything right now? And this is what we want as Jets fans? Players quitting and giving losing effort? Darnold or Allen are going to walk into that locker room next season and turn the whole Giant organization around?

And stop with the Giants are doing this on purpose. Because they are going to blow this whole thing up next season. Management and coaches are not trying to tank on purpose.

If that's true both Mac and Bowles should be fired for malfeasance. The sheer idiocy of bringing in Josh McCown(who has never won anything and will never win anything in the NFL) in order to go 6-10 just to save your hides is absolutely grounds for dismissal.

so you would rather we be in the Giant's situation right now?

Just now, Skeet Ulrich said:

New coach, new GM, top 3 draft pick, elite skill position players coming back next year... where do I sign?

Giants picked a great year to suck.  They will have Sam Darnold, a new coach, OBJ, Evan Engram etc

Meanwhile we are stuck with dumb and dumber
