Don't confuse your lowly experiences in NYC, getting manhandled by Steelers fans (allegedly), with those of rich celebrities. Of all things to crap on NYC, you crap on the restaurants? Nobody goes to Applebees in Times Square except midwest tourist families relieved to find something familiar-looking.

Sh*t, nobody goes to Times Square outright except tourists, unless you're seeing a show or are passing through it because some cabbie decides to take you that way after you told him 3 times to not go through ****ing Times Square on a Friday or Saturday night because it can take 5-15 minutes to drive almost every ****ing block, so you're late and then your girlfriend who's already been there for 45 minutes because she lives 2 blocks away and that's why she picked this bar again in the first place, rags at you as you take your coat off about how you're always late and how supposedly embarrassed she is in front of her 3 stupid c*nt friends who can't get non-abusive men themselves, so for 3 months they've each been nonstop whispering in her ear what a sh*t you are and how she could totally do better even though everyone knows there's no way, so then they pile on as well so you tell those fatass sows to butt out, then it escalates to the point the bouncer feels he has to step in and instantly takes her side because now it's 1 cute angry girl and her 3 c*nt friends yelling at one guy and to make it look like he's a good guy rescuing them in hopes one of them blows him in the mens room, he and 2 other of his goon buddies grab you and throw you out in the cold before you can even grab your coat, and not only doesn't she step in to say that it's ok you're her boyfriend, she doesn't even come out to bring your coat to you and won't pick up her goddamn cell, so you're standing outside for a good 10 minutes in the cold and wind and sleet before you finally come to the realization that this bitch is seriously going to let you freeze out there, so now you have to find a cab to take you home fast so you don't freaking die, and he takes you back uptown through ****ing Times Square.

Ummmm as they say the truth is stranger than fiction. Unfortunately Times Square is long dead and gone. It’s now a cheap, LCD version of Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing.  Thanks Disney.  Good ole Times Square...the pimps, the hookers, the discos, the drugs, the liquor stores, the porno and Kung fu movies, the night life. Those were the days. When tourists were terrified of walking through and rightfully so. They’re turning NY into LA. This city has lost its character, it’s pulse.  Bombarded and gentrified by hipsters from every state west of Pennsylvania. It’s rare you meet anyone anymore who actually GREW up here anymore. Yet they think they’re from here. ****n imposters. I mean they even had the audacity to move the Giants and our Jets to ******* swampland NJ. It’s just sacrilegious.

As long as either the Browns take Allen (or Mayfield?) #1 OR the Giants don't take a QB, we very well may be in business. Of course, we very well may have to a handful of teams, depending on where all the FA QBs go.
If Giants don't take a QB, is it worth them staying put or would they trade down? If that pick becomes available it could change a lot. They'd probably not want to drop too far, so teams like Denver and us would likely be the main players.

I doubt the Giants would ever trade with us, but we'll see.

Why wouldn’t they? There really isn’t an actual rivalry between these two organizations like fans try to make it seem. They aren’t in our division or even our conference, so it doesn’t really matter. .. this “cross town rivalry” is more fan induced than anything. If they like our offer, their GM isn’t going to turn it down.

Anyone of the TOP 5 picks who don't select a QB would be doing their franchise a disservice by not trading down IMO...

I think they would fear the potential public fallout from trading away a franchise QB to the Jets. Trust me, both teams like it when their cross town buddies are down.

If you think historically, there have been very few big trades between the Jets and Giants and relatively few between local professional sports teams in general. It could happen. I'm not saying the Giants wouldn't listen. I'm just saying the odds are decidedly against it happening.

It might be criticized in 5 years or it might be praised in 5 years .. i really don’t think any of that matters, personally. A General Manager of a professional sports team isn’t going to worry about what ‘might’ happen in 5 years from now. If he sees value in a trade, he’s going to pull the trigger, regardless. Also don’t think public fallout weighs heavy on his mind.

Well, this is just stupid. Those were actually NOT the days.  I've lived in Manhattan for the last 40 years and I can't think of one good thing about the old Times Square for precisely the reasons you mention, although you left out the crime, the homeless, the transient hotels, muggers, pickpockets, grifters and the grime and dirt. I'll take safe and glitzy and clean any day over a cesspool, but hey that's just me. I actually live here. And I enjoy walking through Times Square to a show or shopping -- it's a dazzling site even for an old timer like me. And I might add that it's not rare to meet someone who grew up here at all. I work with many many native New Yorkers from all boroughs. What most of them miss are the small ethnic neighborhoods of their youth and the mom and pop stores. But that's a whole different kettle of fish from the wretched wastes of the old Times Square.

Why do people think other people are desperate to come to NY? NY is an expensive sh*thole.

The New Jersey state tax on $30M is roughly $2.7M, but he'll be able to write $10k off his federal taxes, so it's all good.

The Giants can dictate the top 6 draft frenzy.   I don't think they will pick a QB.  Their new coach is confident in working with a good and not great QB.  They can sign some free agents for the o line and draft some in the later rounds.  I believe they will go with Barkley.  He along with OBJ, Sheppard and Everett will be a pretty good offense.  Again, if they can get help along the line.

This would be big because assuming the Browns do grab a QB at #1 , the Broncos and Jets would be in line for  2 of the top 3 QB's plus Allen and who knows if Cousins winds up in Denver.

My top QB's

Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, Allen

Draft value chart is irrelevant. What matters is what we can offer vs what other teams can offer. Rumors were we were “close” to trading into the Goff/Wentz sweepstakes. Whatever “close” was would’ve been worth it. If they feel strongly that there are 3 QB’s that are franchise caliber you make this trade now. Each day goes by that pick becomes more and more valuable as teams begin to get close to panic time. If you feel there are only 2 then you have to wait until draft day to see how it shakes out.

Jets could have had Wentz but Macc thought we were better off with Lee, Hackenberg and Jenkins

Not even an exaggeration of how stupid he is

Do you ever have anything useful to say about the current situation/future? Stop wallowing in your petty sh*t puddle. It happened. It’s the past. Let it go.

If they're trying to get the best value for the pick, they NEED to talk to us ... Denver and the Jets are the two teams most likely to trade up to 2 AND trading with either of us still gets the Giants a high pick in return. If they don't include us in talks they'll be hoping Denver just bid against themselves.

After us there's TB, Chicago, SF and Oakland ... none of them are remotely interested in a QB, never mind trading up for one.

Exactly and if Denver gets Cousins that puts us in the seat for the highest pick that needs a QB.

What are you smoking? It’s not going to cost 2 second rounders and our 6th to move up 3 frickin’ spots ..do you have any idea what a value chart is?

The value chart is out the window when you may have two teams vying for that pick.  Cousins staying with Wash is going to increase the value of that third pick.  If Darnold or Rosen is sitting there at 3,Indy is getting another 1st rounder for moving down to 5 or 6.  Supply and demand.  That’s not to mention is they really want to clean up and can get probably 3+ from a team like Buffalo.

Last 40 years huh. I’m probably older than you but don’t refer myself as being old. Old timer lol what are you buzzing around in an electric wheelchair. We are talking a different era ole timer. The 80’s is when it began to drastically change. Before that it was all more transparent instead of this pseudo wannabe glitter bullsh*t that permeates throughout.  And what do you know about ethic neighborhoods.  Oh you mean the ones you wouldn’t have the balls to walk through in broad daylight.  Yea you know what you’re talking about.

The value chart from like 1988? Lol let me get into my time orb and read it because im sure its very relevant in 2018 in a draft full og qbs with half the leage needing a qb

Actually, the vast majority of draft trades in the past 5 years are remarkably close to the draft chart values. There was an article with all the data that I can't find now but it showed a surprisingly strong correlation. Of course there are always exceptions when it comes to 1st rd QBs.

Again, I believe history suggests otherwise. Jets/Giants, Yankees/Mets, and the Knicks/Nets rarely make trades with one another.

This is the problem. Almost all of the deviations are related to teams trading up near the top of the draft for a QB. (Eli Manning, RG3, etc.) The only non-qb example that I can think of is when the Saints traded their whole draft for Ricky Williams (Still probably the worst draft day trade of all time)

Nothing said New York like the old Times Square. It had a soul,  maybe covered in sin, but a soul nonetheless.
