LockeJET
And it was the correct call. Wasn't a catch.
Barry McCockinner
Ridiculous they overturned that TD. Why do they feel the need to continuously reinvent what a catch is? They are seriously determined to ruin the league.
CSNY
And the Refs don’t even have a gun to get away with robbery. According to the rules that they drill in our collective heads once you have possession and cross the plane of the goal line it’s a touchdown. slimjasi
To me, that should be a catch, but as soon as I saw the bobble, I knew it would be overturned

Barry McCockinner
Caught the ball, two feet down in bounds, never lost control. Did it move in his hands? Sure. Still a catch all day. Never getting overturned if it's a Patriots TD.

If you're going to the ground, you have to maintain control. He didn't. End of dicussion.

In common sense world it's a catch, but they usually don't call that a catch if it bobbles/moves when the guy hits the ground. I thought they'd overturn it. nico002
It was one of the most outrageous calls I can remember. You can only overturn a call if there is indisputable evidence... plus the catch rules have been changed to allow movement...
joewilly12
He was robbed the wall was right there it looked like he put his hand out to protect himself they considered that to be no ball control.

ScarletKnight89
I understand you want to get the calls right but when it takes you 20 mins to look at something to overturn you're nitpicking. And you knew after that was overturned the Jets weren't scoring.

Sure, the ball moved but it's not like it bounced out of his hands and he had to re-catch it. Also if it takes the replay both 10 minutes to decide, the call on the field should stand. Paradis
Just now, Barry McCockinner said: Ball moving != Losing control it didn't just move, he the ground (ball debatably as well) and the ball shot out and shifted across his body... that's an easy "didn't complete the process" call... i don't know why the refs needed 2 hours to review it. DoubleDown
Under the new rules, this should have been a catch. Ball movement, and even ball touching the ground are allowed as long as the receiver maintains control. Griffen never lost control of that ball.
