Crowder and Perriman are the only completely safe WRs on the roster IMO.

Maybe two of those three guys (Vyncint Smith, Josh Doctson, Braxton Berrios) stick into the regular season but that's the group fighting for the WR5/6 spots in training camp with what will likely be two rookies coming onboard.

I would think Berrios is also close to a lock.  (#3 rated punt returner last year)

Douglas calling Sam a special type of player, said numerous good things about him. I still believe the only reason Douglas came to the jets was because of Sam.

I honestly think that this was the most praise Douglas has given Sam since arriving.  He was really laying it on.

I like the idea of starting with LG Van Roten and RG Winters....and backing those guys up with Alex Lewis and Josh Andrews.  It's a decent depth chart at OG only if Winters is fully recovered.  But I'd also be looking to the Draft for a mid/late round OG prospect.

Really hope they do add a mid round G/C. But by keeping Winters, they might not have room on the roster with already 6 interior linemen signed for next year.

What's the date by which Winters would need to be cut to save his $$$ ?

If his money isn't guaranteed for 2020, can the Jets see what happens in the Draft and if they get a good, young guard decide to cut Winters in June.....or even in August at Camp?

Lewis' cap number is $1M higher than Van Roten's, so take that for what it's worth. If they really plan on holding onto Winters at RG, then, at best, I'd think VR vs. Lewis would be an open competition. I think every job on the Jets OL is up for grabs this summer, but that they'll want to make those decisions as quickly as possible.

I continue to believe that Winters is the #1 candidate to be approached for a pay cut before final cuts, with the above camp competitions being a large factor.
