What Jamal Adams told D.J. Reed after he signed with the NY Jets

Recommended Posts

Adams was a pain in the ass towards the end and most of us agree that he was over rated, but what adams did to get out and to get paid was strictly business. He knew the jets weren’t interested in paying him long term and he didn’t want to play another down here knowing a long term contract was never coming. Some fans get lost in the drama and don’t see the business side. Adams made a business decision and got paid. Can’t really blame the guy when you see how things played out. He won, the jets won, the Seahawks lost. More and more players are doing what he did. Things have shifted ans instead of the teams fighting it, they sell them off quickly and move on. There is too much money at stake for these guys to not do everything they can to get that guaranteed money.

Jamal Adams tries so hard to act and sound like Kobe and MJ, but it just doesn't work.

Like the embarrassing postgame cigar smoking thing after winning a division "title".

He's never going to live up to that contract and the aftershocks his arrival eventually caused (Russell Wilson is a Bronco), and while Seattle fans generally seem kinder and more supportive, I think he will end up being reviled by both fanbases.

So glad I no longer have to see him in green and white.

Understood.

But the way he went about it was just childish, off-putting, and downright cringe.

I agree and I defended Adams for his actions until, he said, "he wants out, no matter what, and will play for another team without a new contract".  Maybe that was still part of the performance strategy but it didnt feel it.

You're not wrong.

Many former-forum communities I was once a part of have shifted to Discord instead.

Communication via the written word is a dying art form.

Soon, Jet Nation will be everyone actually yelling at each other through a mic on a team speak channel.

The NY Jets revamped their cornerback room in a big way this offseason signing D.J. Reed in free agency before doubling down and adding Sauce Gardner with the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

It remains to be seen how the unit will actually perform, but on paper, the Jets have one of the deepest cornerback rooms they've had in a long time.

Reed, in particular, has taken to his new home in stride, and he's done so with a little guidance from a former teammate who also happens to be an ostracized former Jet.

Former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams, a name that should be very familiar to Jets fans, offered some advice for Reed after leaving the rainy clouds of Seattle for the bright lights of New York.

And given Adams' history with the organization, it comes as somewhat of a surprise that the former top-10 pick had nothing but kind words to say about the city and the Jets' fan base.

Jamal Adams praises the NY Jets when speaking to D.J. Reed

When speaking to the media following Wednesday's practice, Reed revealed that Adams told him it was all "love in New York." Adams borrowed his famous catchphrase to discuss Reed's new home, and he did so in complimentary fashion.

Of course, even if Adams did bash the organization, it's highly unlikely that Reed would actually reveal what his former teammate said. Still, it's nice to see the team's former star safety letting bygones be bygones for the sake of his teammate.

Adams' time in New York ended abruptly following an offseason of drama in 2020 that ultimately saw the three-time Pro Bowler traded to the Seahawks for a hefty package that would eventually net the Jets both Alijah Vera-Tucker and Garrett Wilson.

The Jets are happy with the transaction, and Adams seems to be at peace with the move as well. As for Reed, he's looking forward to new opportunities with a new organization.

It isn't often that Jamal Adams speaks about his time with the Jets in a positive light. This is a moment to savor. I suppose his friendship with D.J. Reed transcends any transgressions he had or still has with his former team.

Just a side note, STFU if you like to criticize threads and never contribute by starting a new topic. This sh*t takes time and it is for the cause of helping this site which is on life support.  Truly, just STFU.

"Someone" needs a hug.

Adams has to be kicking himself. Understandably the old regime wasnt a winning one, but he had a chance to be on the ground floor of an ascending team....instead he chose to go to a team thats clearly about to rebuild. He wont win another playoff game for a while.

Wait, doing nothing but copying and pasting an article or blog post that you did not write or contribute to "takes time"?

You mean it "takes very little time"...right?

Huh? Does he not run the site? Such an odd question at best and an absolutely lame attempt at an insult at worst.  Let's hope for the best I guess!

But it was a serious question based of perception and subjectivity....kinda like most of our opinions, don't you think?

Cellphone, laptop, desktop...it all depends. The task takes longer via cell which is my method.

It is very simple Indiana, copy and paste. I know your neurons can handle  CTRL + C; CTRL + V.

A troll and a rude person who adds pretty much nothing to this site believing its on life support.

So, are you supposed to get roasted and cut your fingers off? (It would have been tongue back pre-CPU days).

What are the premises of banning? Subjectivity for most part from butthurt, thin-skinned people.

The only one acting thin-skinned and butthurt in this thread is you. In fact, that's how you started this thread.

This site is on life support because of the small cadre of of high volume click bait posters who treat it as a pilot for their stand up comedy while concurrently a significant percent of football smart posters have gradually chosen to leave the building or have been banned for not being in lock step with the resident thought police.

It takes work for an actual smart person to get banned for bucking the thought police. Feel free not to name names because nobody cares but whoever you're talking about is dumb and had it coming. Like for reasons beyond just being dumb.

I got roasted good and kudos. However, I stand true to my statement.

What’s to be butt hurt over another mindless thread isn’t worthy.  And has nothing to do with being thin skinned.  Most aren’t outside of yourself
