You can’t just give him a Coca Cola and let him stay up?

No my son has to be up at 5:30 AM during the week outside of the summer so he probably won’t make kickoff.

I was 8 when I saw Chris Chambliss win the pennant for the Yankees in 1976. The game started at 8:30 so it must have been pretty late by the time it ended (actually it was 11:43 pm when the game was over) Your 12 year old can't make it to 11:30??

Again see other message.

My son plays his own sports at one particular sport at the highest level and has to be up for training at 5:30 AM.

Thats more important to him.  But he would still love to watch the game.

Some of us enjoy opening on the actual opening day and not staying up to 12:30 on a weeknight but whatever.

And it will do what for you exactly if it were week 5?  Are you not watching?

Dolphins-Bills in Week 2 on Thursday Night.  Wonder if that means Pats @ Jets

Also Chiefs week 2 at home vs Bengals.

So they get 2 of their toughest games at home to start the season.  Just like the Brady Pats they get the best of everything.

Not having a real opening day two years in a row is lame. That's it.

Just rough.  Monday night in SF, which means the team doesn't get back till Tuesday morning. Short week for week 2.

Yes Jets have 0-2 written all over them.

Then the media local and National turn on them.

Rightfully the fire Saleh and Hackett noise will be loud AF.

Rodgers can’t deal with the BS and critiques everyone in a press conference from the coaches to the media to the fans.

Season in the sh*tter.

Yes where and when you play is a HUGE deal.  **** the NFL doing this 2 years in a row.  It’s a big **** you to the fans of the Jets and the organization, and I believe it is done on purpose because they hate Rodgers existence and Woodys.

I don’t have DVR.

Who wants to watch a game they know the outcome to on Tuesday around 3:00 PM.

With practice and Homework he probably wouldn’t be able to find time anyways.

This is just making it easier for me and my son to break away from this greed pos league.

I'd rather start on the West Coast than travel out there in the middle of the season.

My bigger concern is that this new o-line will need a few weeks to gel a bit. Not great facing their pass rush this early.

agree on pass rush.  huge worry.

but they are a great team and crazy things happen in the first couple of weeks.  and travel won't be an issue

Love the matchup.

******* BS they have to open on Monday Night AGAIN!

I have a 12 year old who just wants to see Rodgers play, now 2 years in a row he can’t watch opening day and then he loses interest.

There should be a rule you are only allowed to play week 1 Monday Night once every 10 years or something.

I’m extremely sick of the NFL and them scripting everything to squeeze one extra penny out of broke addicted consumers.

Every year I show less and less interest in the product as a whole.

I’ll probably be done once Rodgers retires.

You can’t tackle anymore now either **** them and the amazing game they are ruining!

What time is your son's bedtime?

So then he can’t watch the game. Enough. Stop crying already

It’s frustrating.

First excitement with a QB for the Jets since Favre.

2 years in a row can’t sit down with my son and enjoy the game, and never did he even get to see Rodgers one play.

**** you and the other guys.  All one wants to do is share their passions with their children.  This greedy pos league only gives a **** about $$$$$$$$$$!

You all thinking this is great Wednesday games, every Xmas, and any other ******* holiday they can take over it’s ******* stupid greed.

This is Adios **** YOU!

Better to play them week 1.  You can already envision the O-game plan designed to protect Rodgers.  Understandably limited to quick short passes and the run game.
If all here were to choose in advance the most difficult opener…it would be unanimous.  Niners - in Sanfran
