Would you have felt better if he were simply cut, and then the Bills signed him?

Because that was the alternative, he wasn't good enough to make our team (to JD/Saleh).

I didn't want to lose him, period.

That said, why trade him to a division rival?

If the Bills signed him that's one thing - but why hand him to them.

Makes no sense at all.

He's going to be one hell of a returner.

Would have felt better if he was cut and signed with a team outside of our division. He didn't get a chance to explore that option.

Not gonna lose any sleep over it though.

I suspect they may carry an unusually large number of DL thru the first round of cuts in an effort to protect the rights to one or more of these guys. This is a great step for them, but nothing’s settled until after the mini-draft.

Would you rather he gets cut for nothing or we get a pick out of it?

I don't think we got a pick. Thought it was for a pick swap which means 0 picks gained. Not sure if that was worth him potentially being a PITA 2 games a year.

Here's who has been cut so far from the Jets as Tuesday's deadline approaches:

  • S: Al Blades Jr.
  • RB: Xazavian Valladay
  • DL: Jaylen Twyman
  • CB: Tre Swilling
  • DB: Jaylen Key
  • WR: Brandon Smith

Hoping that Brandon Smith lands on the Practice Squad.

For a better draft pick?

Exactly right.

this doesn't mean he makes the bills 53 man roster, does it?  okay it's a pick swap but the jets are going to finish better than the bills so maybe they move up about 8 spots in draft order.
