this move could be a game-changer in terms of media coverage IMO......Tebow could be the guy to finally get the Jets locker room together. He completely takes the pressure of the Jets to explain away last year. when the cameras show up at training camp, they will be so distracted by the sight of Tebow that they will basically ignore the sanchez-Holmes rift from last year......lets put it this way, if there were gonna be 40 articles on Holmes sitting the bench in the Miami game then with the arrival of Tebow that number goes to 5. Tebow is going to completely blind the national and local media, all stories will be about him! Id compare it to Linsanity, a complete takeover of the airwaves and print. With that takeover comes another plus.....NO NEED FOR REX TO GUARUNTEE ANY SUPER BOWLS!! Rex, bless his heart, can't seem to resist proclaiming ridiculousness in the press.....with the arrival of Tebow, would he even feel the need to put it out there??

Tebow off the field is a godsend for this particular jets team......he distracts the media, he curbs the coach, he brings together the locker room, and is the best wildcat QB out there.....plus, does anyone else feel this Jets team could use a lil divine intervention??

If that is the reason then they don't deserve to win the super bowl

all I'm saying is that if you want to have a clean start from last year then you don't wanna be giving interviews about the Sanchez/Holmes rift.....just trot tebow out and 90% of the Jets pre-season coverage will be about him......Let the rest of the guys and the coach put in there work without the distractions....let Tebow be the lightening rod

Think we have to look at what Tebow would bring to the team. He would be great in the wildcat; they could use him as a halfback in special formations; if Sanchez starts off bad, with the turnovers and the moping he should get benched, have the second string QB come in and Tebow would put a fire under his a$$: Tebow does not mope, he doesn't wallow in self-pity, he kicks a$$. He has a heart as big as the Empire State Building, despite his limited progress with passing, he still found a way to win games and take them to the playofffs. Sanchez found a way to lose games and eliminate the Jets from the playoffs--virtually singlehandedly with all the turnovers and missing open receivivers that blind quarterbacks could have hit.

What the Jets accomplished in Coach Ryan's and Sanchez' first two years was nothing short of brilliant: winning four playoff road games and going to two AFC title games....Rex guaranteed the Superbowls and both years they came up about a quarter to a half short. Last year was an freaking joke with the holdout, CBA, no preaseason, no signing of free agents, Sanchez having to work with 3 new receivers, players getting injured who never get injured (i.e. MAN-GOLD)---last year shouldn't even count. This year counts and if the Jets don't lose too much to get Tebow I think he could help the Jets immensely and he could be a very good inlfuence on the Jet's locker room and with Sanchez--he could push Sanchez to get to that next level, and turn him from being a Sanchfries into becoming a Sanchize. When it's all said and done: see how many rings Peyton and Eli have together and how many rings Sanchez has with the Jets. I go with Sanchez and the Jets. And everyone will forget Joe Namath's big drunken mouth, but not bringing the Title to the Jets.

Instant QB controversy. A master plan to divide an already divided locker room. This is the most ridiculous transaction I've ever seen in football. WHOEVER THE QB IS!! So many levels is right!!! For example, how do you think Santonio Holmes is gonna accept this one?? haha Or have we decided to simply abandon the passing game. This is a nightmare.

The fact that I KNOW without looking that this forum will AT LEAST be split even on the Tebow thing is exactly why this is an unmitigated disaster.

the time that we put into debating this move is time we won't be debating if Holmes should've been cut, if Rex is crazy for predicting the SB, if Bart Scott is done........thats the genius, let the masses distract themselves with Tebow and forget about last years disaster

One negative? How about losing a 4th round pick and a 6th round pick when they have a plethora of holes? How about the fragile nature of our QB's psyche getting a whole lot more fragile?

They get a 7th round pick back. Eh, even though we have a higher slot, the 6th and 7th swap is a wash... not much talent to be found there.

So we basically got him for a 4th. Great value.

Distract themselves??? No, it will be ONE debate and it will be on FULL BLAST all day and night and there will be SO MUCH MORE involved in finding a solution to that debate than just winning football games (which is ALL it should EVER be). You will have the right-wing chiming in, you will have teenage girls chiming in, mothers, and of course my favorite, the ignorant fans. They will be pulling for us to start a guy who won a game going 2 for 8 lol over the NUMBER 5 draft pick we already gave up the farm to acquire! This is Pandoras Box.

If we were GIVEN Tebow I'd decline. WE GAVE UP a 4th rounder!!! Who are we throwing the ball to next year? Who's blocking for Sanchez, I mean, Tebow?? Who's relieving Greene? Who's playing MLB next to Harris? Crazy. And I thought signing Nick Folk was bad! This GM has gone from genius to jester in record time! soj

This is a monstrous disaster and it reeks of idiocy and alterior motives. I cant believe Rex is onboard with this. smh

All it took was 1 phone call... "Peyton Manning, 5 yrs, 100M, sight unseen" the first day he was available, and the same thing happens and you get a good player

This is a disaster on many levels. Save that locker room talk; winning football games will fix that. And to top it off, you give up a 4th round pick? What is Tannenbaum allergic to draft picks? Draft picks are gold and Tanny treats them like $hit. Fuk him, fuk Woody. The Jets are a laughing stock.

My children:

Let us not submit to evil. Let us come together as god's children and follow his word as we discuss Tim Tebow in great detail amongst peace, harmony and a spiritual belief in NY Jets Football.
