The Crusher
Devastating comments from Montana: "Montana doesn’t seem to think deflated footballs are a big deal" To bad he doesn't make the rule. If everyone could set the ball how they like then YES it's no big deal. Problem is the other dummies follow the rules. Pats break them. Jet Fan RI
https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/01/30/blandino/mgk8vEnZFQEfLueyfjwAnM/story.html So much for the refs screwed up theory. "Blandino said that referee Walt Anderson did everything properly in regard to testing the footballs before the game on Jan. 18. Each team provided 24 footballs to Anderson 2 hours and 15 minutes before the game, and Anderson personally tested each one and marked them approved for use, Blandino said. “From everything that we reviewed and all the information that we have, the balls were properly tested and marked prior to the game,” Blandino said. “We’ve done our part, in terms of looking at what Walt Anderson and the crew did and how things were handled, and they were handled properly from that perspective. Everything that comes out of that will be made public.” Actually, the refs did screw up. In an article in today's Providence Journal, it was stated the Blandino said the inflation level of the balls was not even recorded before the game. So what good did it do to test the balls at the half? There is no record of whether the balls were already too low before the game. Article is attached. Walt Anderson is on record personally stating that they were properly inflated when he inspected them. Yes - they did not record anything on Paper because the NFL has no requirement or protocol to journal the results of the pre-game check. So it hinges on Anderson's word and others that may have seem him check the footballs. The record of what happened is the word of Walt Anderson. So you have a piece of paper that has numbers on it - are you saying that that is fool-proof? So your point is....

The point is that the officials may have only given the balls the squeeze test, rather than gauging them. But I agree, if they did actually gauge the balls but simply did not write down the numbers, we may still be in business for severe penalties. The key issue though is whether gauging was done before the game. 1

If he recorded the information, then remeasured the balls we would know what the actual deflation was. Yet, we are supposed to take the word of a ref performing his most likely menial task of the day. I think it was Florio who said the 11 of 12 balls being at least 2PSI has also been over stated as it was a lot fewer, but we do not know and the NFL cannot proove anything. I think it was Florio who said the 11 of 12 balls being at least 2PSI has also been over stated as it was a lot fewer, but we do not know and the NFL cannot proove anything. Florio has also reported the rules, and that a low standard of proof will be required to warrant punishment. Trying to change the argument doesn't change the fact that at halftime of the AFC Championship Game, the Patriots were found to be playing with significantly deflated footballs. Just the way Tom Brady likes them, as he's been recorded saying in the past. Whether they were presented to the officials already deflated or not doesn't matter (and they'll take the ref's word that they passed a standard inspection before the game, anyway). What does matter is that they were found to be playing with illegally deflated footballs, giving their offense an unfair advantage handing them in the inclement weather. And looking at the Pats fumble statistics since Tom Brady lobbied for the road team to get to supply their own footballs, it would appear that they've been doing this for a long time. Bill Belichick the Science Dick's explanation regarding dampness and cold that only seemed to effect their side of the field has been hilariously debunked by actual scientists over the last two weeks. The only logical conclusion is that Tom Brady ordered the footballs to be doctored to his specifications. It's fun watching Patriot fans try to come up with other explanations, but there aren't any.
JetsFanInDenver
Clinton also said he did not have sex with that woman. Clinton lied to protect himself from implicated in something he should have not done, that is cheating. Are you implying Brady and Belichick and Kraft are lying to protect themselves from these cheating allegations.

Not only that, his Mr. Wizard routine is a tacit admission that the Pats balls lost pressure from the time the refs tested them pregame to halftime. Belichick was basically admitting that he knew the balls lost pressure.

Sperm Edwards
I was born in 1947. I saw every single game that Joe Namath ever played. Virtually every single pass he threw was between 18-60 yards downfield. No dump offs for Joe and Jets were not a screen pass team. And besides that, he took a physical beating after the play. Roughing the passer and other personal fouls were hardly called. Additionally, wide receivers were mugged down the field. Completely different game back then. Gainzo
The NFL doesn't keep a record of the PSI of every football for each team before the game. That would be swell if they had a set PSI level, but they don't. The have a level between 12.5 PSI and 13.5 PSI. This whole thing is ridiculous. The fact that all of indys balls passed and only one of NE's passed means there is tomfoolery going on and it needs to be checked out. Maybe all of the Colts footballs were at 13.5 PSI or even 18.5 PSI? We will never know as the NFL doesn't keep a record of the PSI level of each football before the game. Do they even check each football with a pressure gauge before the game?

Tony The Wiz
Goodell is trying to weasel out of this scandal because his mentor feelings have been hurt. They are trying to spin this now with the refs and this will be a cover up because Kraft knows that most of America knows his team is a bunch of cheaters. He does not want to have a stain on his legacy.
