Then again you said it was lame earlier. Id rather sign Cutler

While Woody may have his brother run the show they know the backlash they took when they signed Vick. It wasn't tons of backlash but it didn't help sell tickets which is what he wants to do. Also while I disagree strongly with not standing for the flag my issue is I won't support a QB who wears a shirt of Fidel Castro and wears socks with pigs on them to go against the police. If Kaepernick comes I would strongly consider dropping my season tickets. I have already considered dropping them because of Woody's support of Trump who I don't want to get a penny of my money. He didn't actually wear a Castro shirt and he's not a real Castro supporter. He wore a Malcolm X shirt, and 1 of the pics had Fidel in it. Big difference

nooloo
Having followed Kaep since he was at Nevada I definitely think he would be an upgrade for the Jets. I was hoping he would land here last year when there was the same rumors/rumblings. However, I lost a lot of respect for him over his political statements and antics this year. Maxman
6 years in the NFL. He has thrown for more than 20 TDs one time. His best year he threw for 3,369 yards. He is a poor man's Tyrod Taylor. And his baggage only makes him a distraction. Pass, pass, pass and pass twice (on him) on Sunday's. Not even close.
JustInFudge
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was viewed as a potential fit at quarterback for the Jets in the early parts of 2016. Now, Kaepernick could very well be in line to be a member of the Jets in 2017. With the Jets hiring former Saints wide receivers coach John Morton as their new offensive coordinator, Kaepernick now has ties to the quarterback-needy Jets. Morton was the wide receivers coach with the 49ers from 2011-2014, which were coincidentally Kaepernick’s best years as a starting quarterback. Since then, he has essentially fallen off of the face of the earth in terms of performance, but the familiarity between the two could lead to a reunion in New York. Morton’s background is as a wide receivers coach, so a good quarterback coach would have to be brought in to help Kaepernick fix his deficiencies as a passer. With no other arms on the roster other than Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg, the Jets are almost certain to add a QB. Whether it will be Kaepernick or not remains to be seen, but there is a connection there.

But he hasn't had the actual NFL success that Kap has. Like I said, it's a pure boom or bust, upside surprise or top draft pick play. There are really only two ways to get a stud QB in this league: (1) have a top-2 draft pick in a good QB year; or (2) get lucky with a mid-round pick or FA. The Jets need to take a high-variance approach to the QB position in 2017 because the alternative - a mediocre veteran who doesn't get us a real shot at winning a Super Bowl and also locks us out of the high draft slot needed to have a real chance at the position in 2018 and forward - is worse. Of the available FA QBs, that basically means Glennon or Kaepernick; nobody else is high-enough variance. Guys like Cutler are way too low-ceiling and give no runway even if you squeeze a year or two out of them, and the other available options are no-variance duds. Big Blocker
Nothing to do with politics on CK. I just think we've seen his ceiling and it's very low. I think his numbers are off because opposing D's know how to play him. As far as being an interim Qb with younger ones learning behind him, nothing about him makes me think he'd be a good teacher for them. I would definitely pass on him. j4jets
The hate for Kap wanting to stand up for racial equality and protest in a quiet manner is incredible. We have half-time shows where you have artists performing. Thats not football, but it has become a part of the overall game experience. Again, someone taking a knee shouldn't distract anyone from enjoying the game. Now Fitz throwing six picks with a pick six is a different story. If you want to win consistently, you get rid of the worse players, A great deal of fans here like Futz. How smart was that to re sign him? Pro football is a business.
