joewilly12
Jets’ young core ranks in top half of NFL, according to ESPN rankings Updated 12:16 PM; Today 11:50 AM The New York Jets rank 14th in the NFL in terms of under-25 talent, according to rankings done by ESPN.AP By Chris Ryan | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com ESPN is still putting plenty of faith in the Jets’ young talent. According to rankings released on Monday, the Jets came in at 14th in the NFL in terms of under-25 talent on the roster. They fell from the No. 7 spot in last season’s rankings, but the Jets still landed in the top half of the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens, anchored by 23-year-old quarterbackLamar Jackson, the reigning NFL MVP, topped the list, while the Giants, behind Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones, finished at No. 2. For each team, ESPN listed blue-chip players under the age of 25, and the Jets finished with three: quarterback Sam Darnold, offensive tackle Mekhi Becton and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. Even though Darnold didn’t break out in the NFL during his first two seasons after being the No. 3 overall pick in 2018, ESPN pointed out that he is two years younger than Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (the No. 1 pick in 2018), and one year younger than quarterbacks Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow was the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. ESPN said Becton and fellow offensive tackle Chuma Edoga are building blocks as the team continues to make over the offensive line. Wide receiver Denzel Mims, who was a second-round pick in 2020, was also mentioned as an upgrade for the offense. Williams is the key young piece on a primarily veteran defense, and ESPN didn’t see any other young Jets carving out starting defensive roles in the short term. The rankings did name cornerback Bless Austin, safety Ashtyn Davis and linebacker Blake Cashman as players who could emerge to make an impact. Within the AFC East, ESPN ranked the Buffalo Bills fourth, the Miami Dolphins 12th, and the New England Patriots 31st.
jeremy2020
oh, good, glad they're not being disrespected anymore. I guess I cancel my flight to Washington to protest Congress not focusing on the disrespect of the Jets and let them go back to lesser issues like the economy and corona 2

Jetster
How old are Foley & Phillips? Mims is gonna be a STAR, I just have a feeling about this guy based on his college game. Sam can sling, he's going into his 3rd year, same offense for the 1st time & he'll have a bit more time. All of these guys will look better based on the revamped Oline, Perriman, Herndon, Crowder, Bell, addition of Mims,Gore, Perrine. QB creates the stars. Go back and look at how much money Brady made all of their free agent WRs over the last 20 years. Then they go on & do squat.

I don't have a huge problem with it because I only count these guys for the time of their rookie deals. After 4 years, WGAF? It should push their draft stock down at least a little bit though. 17 hours ago, TNJet said: Naw, 24. You're thinking of Shepherd. I think he was 24 when he came into the league. Very true. Sam just turned 23 last month. Mayfield will be 26 next spring, even Joe Burrow is older than Sam. A potential long term core of QB, LT and WR is near. 1
