Why would Gregg Williams, a guy who has no chance of being here next year, care if the Jets get the first pick?

 

Also, if he did care and decided to throw the game, why would he let it come down to a Hail Mary? Why not let the Raiders score five or six touchdowns in the first half? If the Raiders put up 40 on this defense, no one would have thought twice about it. 

It was a preposterous decision by Williams, but ineptitude is much, much, much, much more likely than conspiracy
