Popular Post OtherwiseHappyinLife
We haven’t had a 5th receiver this productive in ……. forever?? He still catches balls from Rodgers at a 70% clip… Over the last 3 years, he’s been at 78, 73 and 70%. Has been graded well by services such as PFF (look at Mim’s grades for comparison) Knows the offense .. seems like a good locker room presence. Just hope he doesn’t take reps or a roster spot from someone better. As long as the money is light, this feels so right. 8

Not that Mims was going to contribute there either but still. We aren't rostering Cobb, Davis AND Mims barring a significant injury to somebody. You can't have 6 WRs with none of them contributing on specials (except Hardman as the KR of course). Just can't.
LockeJET
Cobb is a clutch player. It’s a one year deal. Great guy to have on your team as a 5th WR.

Bobby816
Actually don't dislike this. Adds depth for us. And having 2 guys in Lazard and Cobb that know ARs tendencies and this offense can only help guys like GW, Davis and Hardman Mims trade request might be back in the fold now.

Lith
Hard to get too excited over a 33 year old WR, but obviously he is a guy Rodgers wanted and is comfortable with. Wilson Davis Cobb Lazard Hardman Not a bad top 5. Denzel Mims should be on alert -- either he does something spectacular this summer to either grab a roster spot or become trade bait (I assume he is worth nothing now), or he is a likely cut candidate in August. 4

Taking a slot receiver at 15 overall is never a wise call. People are wringing their hands over a position that isn't particularly impactful on wins and losses. An OK situational pass rusher >>> elite slot receiver.

I am on record of not liking JSN as a player. Hurt last year with a hamstring most of the year. Rumors of him jaking it. His production came from a couple a couple big games his sophomore year. I don't love the player in the first round. But that is what makes the world g 'round. 1

Popular Post Sperm Edwards
He’ll be 33 week 1 but his game isn’t straightaway speed anyway. Really he never was some sub-4.4 speed guy in the first place. Maybe not even sub-4.5, even when he put up 1300 yards at age 24. Even on the Packers (with less WR depth) of late he was just a 30-40% snap guy. This isn’t a Swiss Army knife; he’s a tool for specific sets and situations where it’s too much distance to hand it off but don’t need to connect deep. e.g. a 3rd & 5-8 empty backfield where they just need that 4th WR to be a guy who knows how to quick cut or body-lean his way to a half-yard or more of early separation & then not drop it if thrown his way. YAC are welcome but not required. He’s not brought in to be a starter or burner relied upon for 50+ yards/game. He’s a just another move the chains option, with a veteran who knows where he’s supposed to go and cut, that Rodgers can rely upon to be where he’s supposed to be throughout his route given the coverage. That also prevents a couple picks where the QB expected a cut one way but the WR went in a different direction, and what looks like a terrible throwing decision is actually on the WR. The big downside is he doesn’t have a dual role on special teams anymore. It’s one more specials-only roster spot needed to activate on game day. That was already probably a lot of what kept Mims inactive so many games; it’s less efficient to have a WR4/5 who only plays offense. But if he’s helping to keep the chains moving on a couple drives per game it’s worth it. He can also spot-start as needed & if he’s too banged up to play a few games it’s no tragedy. That’s what cheap veteran depth is supposed to be. 8 1

I’d be more upset on missing out on Kincaid if he turns out to be Kelce lite. TEs are way harder to find of that caliber. JSN would have to be Tyreek Hill esque for me to be even slightly jealous. You can find good ones on a down year.
tfine
JSN obsession has to stop. This guy has nowhere near the level of talent that Wilson and Olave. He’s a possession slot guy. He’s is not worth a top 15 pick. I like the Cobb signing he’s a crafty veteran who knows the game and can take GW game to another level. New York Mick
It’s a smart signing. It’s not going to eat up a bunch of cap space and he obviously knows Rogers which will help out the other wide receivers that haven’t played with him. Having a vet on the team that’s familiar with Rogers is not a bad move. Not every signing needs to be a superstar so stop whining.
