I'll feel better when Zach is off this team.

Why? If he ends up as our third string QB, it's not like Rodgers or Tyrod ever get hurt.

some valid points here but I still have to think losing the one player who controls every offensive snap (except 4th down in most cases) and is one of the greatest to play the position goes down after 4 plays.

Last season is very different if that does not happen including players like Lazard, G Wilson and even Breece.

a silver lining if any is rodgers going down brought holes in this roster front and center that maybe were overlooked because Rodgers was here.

What happens this season who knows but Rodgers staying healthy for the majority of the season will produce differnt results on the plus side.

This team is run by a bunch of knuckle dragging idiots.

The GM is 27-56 and is still going with his “high upside low cost” approach.

You would think this 300 IQ chimp would alter this approach but nope he’s using it for now the 5th straight season.

And now we have to spend the next 3 months arguing with koolaide drinkers about the “upside” of all our FA signings

🙄🙄🙄🙄

Yeah but see where you left out the good part of what JD is good at ,his draft strategy....

Draft guy late, mold him, install a defensive scheme , watch guy flourish in that scheme ,see him develop into something you haven't had for a loooong time and then pay him to stay around so that the one good thing you got going for your team will continue.. Oh wait, nvm he is a Meatball and his schtick has gotten old.

This is as apathetic as I’ve ever been about the team. Very little hope for serious contention in the short to medium term.

I think rock bottom will be when Garrett Wilson requests a trade. Next offseason maybe?

I agree with a few things here but the defensive line rotation we have been using has worked pretty well it sucks huff walked but we couldn't afford to keep him as he would have ate our entire available cap putting us in a worse position because then we would not be able to fill holes elsewhere. As far as reaching for an ot at pick 10 would you rather us take the defensive end that falls to us just because someone wrote up an article that says he is better?

Here's the thing. Either the jets will play as you suspect and we will get a whole new regime (again) and you will think you are happy for a year or they will prove you wrong and they will make the playoffs and maybe we will all be happy. All we can do is wait and see we can't change it let's not cheer for losses before the first kickoff?

Agreed. Aaron Rodger’s is a band aid on a terminal disease.

I have to say that I don't agree with a single thing this team is doing.
The Rodgers trade was idiotic.
Saleh and JD are incompetent and should have been fired.
Going all in for a single season is ludicrous.
Signing Hackett and keeping him is mind boggling.
The Rodgers trade shackled us with a nice cadre of useless players.
Now in free agency, it is clear that literally nothing has changed, We are still just bringing in more guys from Seattle, SF and the Ravens that likely Saleh "is familiar with"
We are still focused on defense and filling out Saleh's ridiculous "rotation"
We made no attempt to keep our best pash rusher and a truly disruptive player.
I am not on board AT ALL with taking OT at 10 unless that player is clearly BPA
We desperately need a developmental QB
Seems pretty obvious to me that this team is going no where even with Rodgers.
And we will fire JD and Saleh a year late, have no money, and probably just bring in another offense allergic defensive coordinator as head coach.
Truly my lowest point as a Jets fan. I think it will be at least 2026 before we have a chance at being competitive.
Right now, this team is worse than the team we had last year.
I wish I could quite this team but I can't.
A little dramatic don't you think? You must not have been here for the Kotite years.

Just for the sake of a real response:
1. At least 90% of the fanbase would have disagreed with this take a year ago
2. Perhaps, perhaps not.  JD at least has done some nice things.  Saleh needs results though.  I agree he would have been fired if not for Rodgers, and I honestly wouldn't have minded.
3. Show me how we're "all-in".  This is just a thing people say that really means nothing unless we start handing out monster contracts and trading future draft picks.
4. Signing Hackett, sure - although it made sense if the plan was to lure Rodgers.  Firing him though?  That was never going to happen unless Rodgers was going too, which was even less likely to happen.
5. Literally the only player we are "shackled" with from the Rodgers trade is Lazard.  All the other guys were 1 year deals and are already gone.
6. We are literally one day into free agency....not even.
7. We're focused on addressing needs.  Is DT not a need?  I'm confused.  Does every need have to be addressed in order of importance?  I'm not sure it works like that bud.
8. Sounds like we weren't willing to give Huff the playing time he wanted, so yeah it makes sense that they didn't even attempt to bring him back.  He was never going to consider any offer if he wasn't getting the playing time he wanted - which wasn't going to happen.  He's a specialist.  A great one, but still...(also if you're going to kill JD for letting a "great player" walk, that means you're giving him credit for finding a great UDFA which kinda goes against the "incompetent" part from before).  Agreed though, he should have traded him last year after Rodgers went down.  This is assuming there was a market for him, which I'm guessing there was.
9. That's great.  That's your opinion.  Who knows what we'll do.  There is still time to sign two starting OTs.  Signing one and drafting a kid at 10 wouldn't be the worst thing in the world though.  IMO drafting a kid at 10 goes against the "all-in" philosophy as well, since it typically takes those guys time to adjust.  Either way this really has nothing to do with anything considering it hasn't even happened yet.
10.  We "desperately need a developmental QB" yet I'm pretty sure you have zero confidence in this regime drafting that player, so again what's the point of even talking about it?  Anyone they draft you will sh*t on, I'm sure.  I'd imagine even if it's a prospect you liked before he was Jets property.  Either way, we don't "desperately" need one.  It would be nice to get one this year, but in reality we could wait to take one next year(which might make more sense, since next year is either the start of a new regime or the start of the current regime's extension)
11.  Time will tell sir.  Regardless I'm looking forward to seeing what this team actually IS with Rodgers under center.  We were a 7 win team last year with the worst QB and arguably the worst OL in the league.  It's not that absurd to think this is a playoff team with even an average QB.
12.  Maybe?  Anything is possible.  I highly doubt money will be an issue for a new regime though considering we'll probably have blown it up.  They'll build around the young players, draft a QB, and move on from the majority of the veterans.  Whether it was a year late depends on how this year's QB class adjusts to the NFL vs next year's.  There are always good QBs available in the draft though, unless it's 2022.  Next year's is weak overall but there are still some good ones.  Again, I'm not gonna worry about this sh*t until it happens though.

A lot of hyperbole but fair enough.  If this is your lowest point though, you must be a pretty new fan.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

To put it bluntly, the jets suck. Have sucked for quite some time.

they need to prove that they are contenders before I blindly put faith in this loser regime. Prove to me you are not inept…. And so far Jd and saleh have accomplished 0.

This offseason is not promising either…..

We’re screwed there’s no way around it. Rodgers lunacy has overshadowed whatever talent he has left. Everyone knows he’s an egomaniac who can’t stay outta the headlines. Pair that with insane taxes, a terrible field, a terrible coaching staff, sh*t weather and a bad GM this is what we get. Why would anyone who is good sign here?

The only answer is money. We have to offer more than anyone else. And jd don’t play that game so we get no one lol

Yep that’s my point…. He has an ego and thinks his plan works so instead of paying good players he throws money at lesser players who show glimpses  of improvement. They don’t pan out and we’re back to square 1. Our GM can’t evaluate talent we are so screwed

I’ve known this for some time now. waiting for everyone else to figure this out…. This is mostly why I have no faith in this regime.

outside of that 1 draft ( u no) JDs FA and draft picks have all sucked. McDonald pick last year was laughable at the time and in hindsight it’s even funnier.

yes I meant imagine one with 32 places one for each team in the NFL

it's not like the Jets have a 1/32 chance just because it's a new spin

more realistically they are like 1/100 and teams like KCC are 6/32

side note roulette wheels actually go 1-36 with 0 and 00 to make 38

I understand.  :)

Yep, Woody runs off to be an ambassador and leaves the franchise to his little brother like an old GI Joe doll the damn King Fu grip ain’t even working on any more. Now A-Rod is in the news as potentially leaving the Jets to run for Vice President leaving the team to Tyrod Taylor. Yeah, FA be lining up baby! Woody sucks as an owner, a leader and this is by no stretch even the worse of it.
