Biggest indictment is not dressing Hackenberg knowing blow out was possible

How do you not dress Hackenberg when you know there is a very good chance the game will be out of hand and you will then be able to get your 2nd round QB some experience in an NFL game? WTF is going on with this team? This is a prime example when a GM is supposed to override the coach and demand you dress Hackenberg in case of a blow out so he could get experience,

Kinda like when Idzik DEMANDED that Rex play Geno in 2014 and Rex proceeded with the Jets offense handing off the ball to Ivory all game out of spite to the GM. Yeah, that worked well, let's repeat Jets history.

The GM can't override the coach because the coach reports directly to the owner not the GM.

What will he look worse than his last preseason game? The point is to get the first game jitters over with and some live action.

The Jets are playing with a JV offensive line. The reason Hack is sitting is because he was "shell shocked" from being sacked dozens of times at Penn State. You want him to have his first NFL experience to be with that offensive line? Really?

Fitz sucks

Hack sucks

Geno blow

Time to move on boys

You know what though?  Fitz is still your best option next year unless you trade for an established QB.

I don't know if that is true. And that Rex was forced to start Geno. There was a lot of spin going on at that time via Rex's leaks like Mehta and Cimini. One thing we do know. Mark was coming off of a terrible year he was injured in training camp (also blamed by Rex's fans on Idzik) and there was no adequate veteran Qb on the roster. Idzik signed a good vet Qb in Garrard but the guy was injured and couldn't play. He also hadn't played in like 3 years. To me if you want to kill Idzik that is what I'd criticize him about. As to forcing Rex to start Geno that was a rumor at best. Probably started by Rex. So glad he's gone.

GM cannot. He does not have the authority.

Are you kidding? The organization's determination to not put Hack out there this year is one of the only good decisions that they've made. The debate over whether he'll bust is a whole different conversation but not playing him is absolutely the correct decision. There is no realistic upside, only downside.

After the team's handling of Sanchez and Geno, you'd think that Jet fans would get that.

Pats fans would love to see us continue with Fitz or Petty for another abortion of a season

Hardly.  Who is out there?   There are no Luck's in the draft.  Get in line for Romo?  Hope Beli trades Jimmy G?   There is not reason to trade Jimmy, but is they were to, it would be an expansive trade for the Jets.

And DD, yes of course we would.  The Phins look like they might be legit with Gase.

So certain of the future, do you read palms to? - You have no idea who starts for the Jets in 2017, or how they will play. Go kicks some Rocks at Patsy.com.

Hack cannot even complete warmup passes.  Think about that.  Warm up passes.

If it wasn't for Allen Robinson Hack would have never even been drafted by a NFL team.

Guy is a total bust.  Wait for the cherry on top next week when Cardale Jones starts and has a good game facing us.

The fact that this isn't some kind of spoof is beyond Alarming!!

All the folks who say the Glennon is a joke have to say at a minimum at least he can throw the ball during warm-ups!!!

Wow.....

IMO we can't go any lower!!!

If the quarterback isn't ready, you don't send him out to the Belichick wolves on his first assignment.  I'm guessing you aren't a parent.  I wouldn't send my 6 year old tee-baller up to play with 12 year olds because it's good "experience".  I'd send him up when his coaches were confident he was ready.

Experience in a blowout isn't 'experience'.  For someone with questionable NFL skills you've bet the farm on, it could be catastrophic.  Letting a quarterback from an NCAA system have a year to get acclimated to an NFL system is a good idea, not a bad one.  Maccagnan is trying something different, taking the best non-pro style quarterback in the last two drafts, giving them a year with pro coaching to figure it out before getting them slaughtered on the field.  Get onboard.
