14 in Green
Jamal is probably sending Douglas a box of chocolate and a nice note thanking him for dragging his feet. With every new signing, Adams gets richer, and all the amateur Capologists here will be crying a river.

A DE getting consistent pressure and sacks is far more valuable than a SS that occasionally makes a splash play in the backfield. how many big plays did we give up donwfield as an LB assumed his coverage duties while he was not getting home....???

Agreed completely. The new NFL needs two coverage safeties. If the Jets need Jamal to blitz every other down than they should make him the rush LB (he'll earn more money there) and put in a SS that covers or rather is asked to cover by the team instead of blitzing. He can roam around the field pre-snap and blast off from anywhere, and they can have a safety in coverage instead of a LB that can't cover.

Sounds like you’re asking the NFL to allow the Jets to field 12 players in defense. Finally Jamal can make an impact and get that big fat contract. Joe Douglas didn't misread anything. Like, at all. Suggesting otherwise is ludicrous. Jamal Adams is a safety. He deserves a contract in-line with Safeties, not EDGE rushers, CBs, or pass rushing DTs. It's that simple. You can't say "it's a new market" in one breath and then talk about positional markets in another. Positional markets are how this has always worked. Jamal doesn't deserve more money because other positions got paid and he sure as sh*t doesn't deserve 18-20 million. 3 1

Instead of that big fat contract being worked on, all that’s transpired is Jamal running his big fat mouth.
