slimjasi
I was more of a teen by then, but I always loved watching Randy Moss. Favre in his prime. Terrell Davis. Ed Reed a bit later in life. There are many more, but those are the guys I thought of first.

Popular Post Lith
Here is an obscure one. Lawrence McCutcheon, RB for the Rams, was one of my favorite players as a kid. There were not many guys I could root for with the same first name as mine. Csonka was a Dolphin, so he was out. LT was not yet in the league. Neither was Larry Bird in the NBA. Best baseball player ever with the first name Lawrence was known as Yogi, another one would come along later, but he would be known as Chipper. McCutcheon was the guy for me.

I was a DE in HS and he was the NFL player I wanted to be like. Great thread. Thank you so much for doing this. I am getting to relive my childhood in a very good way. His run on Monday night football is still so vivid in my memory and one of the most electrifying plays I have seen. Sure guys now hurdle defenders, put crazy moves on etc. Earl just got the ball and challenged you to try and tackle him. Once he turned the corner it was give it your best shot but I am and did going to run right through you.

That might not be a fair assessment, but that is how it came off at the time.

He was one of those QBs that you knew was going to do something wild during a game and it was worth watching (Stabler, Staubach, Farve, Mahomes)
