Refs mess-ups in Bills game

The reason you can’t challenge under 2 mins is because they want everything to be reviewed even if you are out of challenges. Not reviewing that catch was outrageous

They also don't want scumbag coaches getting a free five-minute timeout so that their gassed defense can get a breather while breaking the momentum of the offense and the crowd noise etc.

The real issue is that when you are in the 2min and it's a booth review, you should NOT be able to rush to the line and get a play off before they have a chance to look... quite frankly the booth should still have the discretion to nullify that play if they deem the play before as something reviewable.  In the NHL if there is a shot that might be a goal, but the refs aren't sure the play continues while the league reviews the replays and they blow the horn and stop the play if it was a goal...then they reset the clock back to where it was at the time of the goal.  If the plays need to be right why can't the NFL do that...

Very important and great point.  Coaches would take advantage of that.

There could be a more significant penalty for a failed challenge?  Even still, coached could find a way to abuse it.

2 plays they missed

12 men on the field.   Calling a receiver a catch when he was out of bounds.

And they screwed up pass interference earlier in the game.

The Vikings were going in to score and the refs called a very questionable Offensive PI on TE TJ Hockensen in the end zone.  A play or two later Hockensen is held in the end zone and there's no call.  Two bad calls which looked even worse because they were practically back to back.

Yep, that happened.

But to be fair, the Bills receiver was mugged on what would have been the game winning TD in OT.

So it evened out.

No.  It didn't really even out.  If the Davis catch is ruled incomplete, the game likely doesn't go to OT. If the 12 men on the field is caught, the Vikings likely score a TD in OT and win the game. The Vikings had to win the game 3 times to win it once.

Hmm, good point.

At the end of the game it’s that much harder to make any penalty meaningful

This.

Bills are the new Patriots.

How some people have not figured that out yet is beyond me.

League will make sure the Bills win the division. Just watch.

They are definitely the anointed ones right now. I guess they think Allen can be the next superstar for them. Gee I don’t know why it couldn’t be Mahones. I don’t know why people think Allen is Mr Nice Guy, he gives me the creeps

Those missed calls were unacceptable. The game felt too fast for the referees and that's not professional.

This can't keep happening, huge blown calls with an apology later. They are destroying their game.

Having said that- I disagree with Belichick's "solution." If you allow coaches to challenge in the last 2 minutes, every game deciding play will bring on a challenge flag because in the final minutes/seconds, the team has nothing to lose and will throw the challenge just because of that

It would be very annoying for fans

Isn't this very similar to what coaches do in basketball....the most popular sport in the nation?  The only think that counts is the last 5 min of the game yet fans love it.
